Double and triple check all your measurements. It's always amazing how things are not where they are supposed to be after the concrete is poured and you cannot see what's under it.

Yep, know someone who has a barn that is 40x60x40x61.
Posts are all on piers and somehow they got off by a foot when putting one side in.

Have someone else check from a print? My house foundation is a 1/2" off because I didn't account for the 1/2 sheeting and I double checked. I compensated for it, but I know it is wrong.

I had the drafter at work print me up a grid that's 36x48 on 11x17 paper unfortunately it's only about 8.5x11... but it has the right amount of squares so I'll sketch it up this weekend, then make a couple copies and scan it into the computer for good measure... Oh yeah, for those keeping track, I didn't use the previous PEX layout, when I drew it again since the trial expired at home it went a different way that I liked more... but it was a pain to modify things how I wanted in loop CAD so I just winged it once I got to the office end, by that point I had a good idea how the process worked...

I hate to admit it but, I could do that. For whatever reason, getting stuff square is hard for me.

I even own a tape measure that, to my knowledge, works.

The corners of this thing are square, at least at the bottom and pretty close at the top, I've taken WAY too much time measuring things that don't matter as much as I expect...

Sketching the thing out on the graph paper should help for documentation, and I charged up the digital camera so I'll climb up a ladder and get pictures of everything from hopefully every angle, already made a folder in my computer for "home and shop stuff" for future reference. after I get further along I'll back it up on my portable hard drive...

I have enough painters tape around I'll probably mark the rebar at the skirt board then run a ring of painters tape along the top of the skirt boards...

Are you going to be there when they pour? Remember, if they can get away with adding extra water, they will!!!!

Yes, I'm home, about 3 hours to go!

He said they pour on the thick side, I'll be there to pester and ask stupid questions :).

This should be one giant leap toward me getting random cool projects done, I have so many ideas...

I pestered the electrician the other day too, so hopefully get that moving along soon too.

Went pretty good yesterday, the first truck was almost 45 minutes early. The only real hiccup was my grade was off a little here and there for my receivers and I made them 6" tall, some sit a bit proud so they tapered them out... will likely be a bit annoying but if I don't like it I'll just cut the steel short and grind it flat...

Might do pictures tomorrow, tomorrow night or Saturday I should be doing the saw cuts.
