I gotta go though and fix this thread at some point, damn photobucket

anyway
Got the plasma table installed today, now to learn how to program it

the test cut was an included test program

Looks to me like you will be needing a bigger machine shop real soon.
hugs, Brandi

god no
I’m done accumulating
(Maybe a Cnc router for wood shop)
But that’s it!
I promise!

Hmmm..., maybe use the cnc plasma cutter with a RottoZip bolted to the head, all power to cutter head turned off, when you want to try wood?

You will probably going to want to get the plasma out of there as soon as you can. Plasma smoke contains a lot of fine metal particles that does a job on machine ways and it looks like you have some nice machines in there. I am going to get one next year after I move my shop and it is going to go out on the covered porch away from the precision stuff. BTY, what is the big lathe on the right side of the picture? I need a good farm lathe that will swing 12" over the carriage.

Water table seems to be doing quite well for dust, I’m pretty happy

I wipe and coat all ways prior to use or any carriage/saddle/table movement anyway ( due to years of combined wood/metal shop) so I will just keep that up

lathe is a 24(48”) swing x72” (iirc)monarch model 60

it was was an old hydraulic tracer model that had it butchered off
So not ideal for threading as compound is fixed parallel to work
Otherwise it is great machine

It is second only to my Rivett in fun

I may try it sand, I have cut some wood on cnc mills for parts/projects or to minimize breakage/carnage in testing new program

will see, my cnc mills are old tech and easy to program ( polar coordinates not gcode) but less dynamic

I’m sure I will learn a great deal
(And bury the delicate torch tip in the table a bunch-I bought several extra consumables in prep)
