That looks like an awesome package of goodies, not to mention the 110 itself!

Why did Deere stop making the 110s?

They've lost touch with what customer's want. Plain and simple, they didn't offer any upgrades through the 110's production life. Kubota now owns this market segment. Total bonehead move by Deere IMHO.

The market niche for small, construction grade TLB's (and to some extent larger TLB's) is being taken over by sales of skid steers and mini-excavators.

Landscapers, small construction businesses would rather have the flexibility and efficiency of the SS and mini-X's versus a TLB.

Thanks for all the comments guys.

I just stopped by the dealer again today. They think they've found the bolt on, but it said it was yellow instead of black, but it is specified to fit the model number. Asked about the skid plate, but since the 110 is no longer in production and the skid plate was made by a 3rd party they don't have it in the books. So he was going to try and look them up and see if they could find one.

Also said they were going to be able to take it into the shop tomorrow and start checking everything out. So shouldn't be too long till its home.

I did look at it again, and the rear left tire was a little low. Hoping it can either be plugged or preferably just some Fix-a-Flat.

I took the best possible picture I could of the undercarriage. The lawn is super muddy and I didn't want to get down on the ground, so I just bent over and shot the picture upward. The other picture is of the flatter tire. Looks like a slow leak though.

If you'd like, I'll dig up my sales invoice and see if the manufacturer's info for the bellly pan is there - place in Alabama - IIRC.

Fire up that backhoe and drop the stabilizers to elevate the rear tires in neutral with some warm soapy water - see if it's the valve stem, the tire bead or a small puncture. My tire had a slow leak this winter after moving it from the warm garage out into -25F!!

When the tire got really cold it pulled from the rim enough to slowly leak. I pumped it up 2-3 times to 25psi and that stopped it.

Agree... Matt. Can't argue with "City Hall", though! Homeowner's and hobby DIY'ers are the market for 110's, now.

Deere would rather sell 2 machines to the small-midsize builders, construction guys, though.

The link only took me to blank JD parts catalog. :(

I figured that it would do that. Picture will be attached.

Thanks Clausen, almost as good as your truck load the other day. As for the discontinuing, the others have covered it up.

Thanks AKfish, but I believe I've found it. It's in the same book that was far off on the weights of the buckets (tried lifting the bucket, and I can lift two hundred pounds, couldn't get a edge off the ground) but it is in Alabama, I'll call tomorrow or forward the info on to the dealer and see what can happen.

I'm not to worried about the tire, yet. It has been cold, then hot, then cold and over and over. It was 40 today, but last week it was in the teens (not -25:eek:) but the temp change may have messed with it. I'll pump it up and if it doesn't stay maybe a little fix a flat, but it's slow, so I can't imagine it's actually cut open somewhere.

...A quick look under there and everything is really exposed. I'm going to look into it. No chance you remember how much it was is there?...

I think mine was in the $7-800 range, but that was 6 years ago.

For the guys making a living in the dirt I really think the skid & mini combo is the way to go. Both machines do the job specific tasks better and faster than a 110 could. And time is money, the 110 was really aimed at home builders and smaller utilitys. Where the 110 could be the swiss army knife it is. As you know from our PM's I was real hot on the 110 and still am. But no dealer I talked with was eager to sell the 110. They all tried to push the 4000series on me so I could keep my 448 hoe. The 110's at the local dealer was like a yard ornamant. They were stuck at MSRP and wouldn't budge. But were very willing to move on the other cut models. So I think dealers contributed to the poor sales of the 110 in my area at least. Sorry for the hijack and rant. jealousy is taking over I guess.:licking:

I'm trying to figure the dealer's "logic"... and it doesn't make real good $ense! But... I know how unwilling my local dealer was/is on a sale, too.

If they "figure" they got you over a barrel and know what you "want"; well, when the position gets that set in stone... all you can do is move on and go elsewhere.

And be sure to drive by the dealer with your next tractor on the trailer - several times!!

Hijack my thread all you want. I completely understand where your going from. It seems to me too that the dealers would want to move something more expensive if they had a chance, more money in their pocket with you getting the new hoe instead of the 4000. Some things we may never understand.
