I'm running a second ad for a cement mixer and got a sad reply. A guy who was going to come buy it this weekend sent me a note he wouldn't need it any more, he lost everything in the Middletown fire.
That's a tragedy.

It's hard to believe that no one serious is interested in your machine. Disappointing and frustrating. It's a good machine and I suppose if you can't get what it's worth, it's not so bad to have an extra worker around.

It's not all bad on Craigslist. I had some 2 1/4" maple flooring left over from doing the floors in my house. I wasn't sure it was worth much but I wanted the space back in my basement and my wife suggested profit from that sale could be pledged toward a new loader control valve so I put about 150sqft of flooring that I had no use for on craigslist and got my asking price from the first guy who expressed interest. I'm more than 1/2 way to a new valve!

Before I get ahead of myself.... I've also got the rear PTO pump/reservoir that came on my Yanmar up on Craigslist. No interest whatsoever. I've been thinking I might keep it and use it on the larger NH with a skid-steer style post pounded. That 45HP machine has rear remotes but I doubt the flow is more than 8GPM. That rear pump PTO pump would be much faster.

I got more seals/parts to rebuild the loader arm cylinders so I'll try to get to that this week after work. Once that's done the only thing left really will be hoses and the control valve. Oh yeah, I still have to find a way to remove what's left of the PTO engagement lever and either get it fixed or replaced.

Man, Craigslist transactions can get weird.

A buyer for the cement mixer spent a few minutes breaking it down to fit in his car. Talked the whole time, wouldn't listen to anything. All about he was a real Christian and nobody earned his respect, for not agreeing 100% with what he told them - nonsense like he pulled his kids out of public school for home schooling to evade the daily Muslim prayers required of all students by the new Common Core curriculum. Ok, whatever, I was going to offer you apples I just picked but if I don't get a chance to speak then forget it.

I'm not criticizing sincere Christians who are more conservative than me. I think we all need to find our own path, and get along with one another. But this guy was a nut.

There is conservative, there is liberal, and then there is crazy.

They have daily Muslim prayer in your California schools!!!! Is there christian prayer? I think i too would have to pull my kids out of that as well!!!

We have tolerance as christians but there should not be any prayer i would think in schools of any religion i would think? As a christian it is a sin to pray to anything or anyone else. That is a core beleive. no idols.

No no no. He made that one up. I challenged him immediately on that one. "No Way!" I asked if he meant some Muslims got on some school board somewhere. He said that was it, he heard it happened in Tennessee where his wife and kids live, while he works in California to support them. He wasn't convincing on this, more just repeating vague but strongly-felt rumors that didn't add up.

Anyhow the Friendly Politics forum is full of religious discussion. I didn't mean to bring that here, just describe my Craigslist experience. I got the impression that 'tweeker' best describes this guy's religion.

Haha. That last part was pretty good!

I am not going to bring it up more either just couldnt believe what I was reading!!! But I understand now.

I had a set of steel black wagon wheel rims that fit chevy and toy 5 lug. Were on CL for a few weeks. Get a call and the guy wants to meet and see them. Met and he gave me my asking price of $100 which I would of budged off of! We were both happy with the deal. The rims were in great shape...maybe 85% new on condition?

I've had to shift my focus away from this tractor for a bit. I've got some honey-do items that need to be finished before I'll have any serious time to dedicate to the tractor. Something about "Tyvek isn't a suitable exterior cladding". And this past weekend my wife and I took some time off to go to the "Mother Earth News Fair". It was a nice couple of days away. Yanmar was one of the title sponsors and they had a large display. They brought some shiny red tractors and a couple yellow ones as well so I was able to play around on a Yanmar this weekend, just not one that I own.

On the way down to the fair I was able to get replacement seals for the other two loader cylinders. If things go well this weekend maybe I can find time to get those two lift-arm cylinders redone. I've also called Hoye about a replacement PTO lever. I still haven't gotten the old one off. My options will vary depending on what Hoye says. If they've got one at a reasonable price, I may try cutting a slit in that frozen lever-base so I can 'peel' it back or maybe get it to rotate with a few hammer blows. That's the destructive approach. If they don't have one I'll have to come up with some other way of breaking that free so I can get the handle welded back on.

They have to have one!!! i think the cutting a slit in it may be the best route
