New to the diesel tractor world.

First off, have you even tried to start it? If so, what are the symptoms? What color smoke coming from the exhaust, if any? Where are you located?

No, haven't herd it running. Bought, and the injector pump was off and in a box. Previous owner had it "somewhere" and was told pump as bad. Owner ordered one from China, but it was wrong one. Frustrated, he sold to me. I have one on the way from a guy in Alberta that seems to have a good supply of parts. But I have no clue on how to properly time the pump and the engine when it does arrive! I work on cars for a living, this is my first "kick at the can" for diesel tractors. I'm located in Aylesford, Nova Scotia, Canada.

Is the engine partially disassembled? Why would you be concerned with Injector pump timing? We need more information to start offering opinions about what to do.

Pump is off when I bought it. Was told it was bad. Got a new one on the way.

Welcome. What year and engine . I have an 2007 DF 354 with the Chang Chai engine. Straight gear no shuttle, 514 hrs. Its been a good solid tractor. I've done lots of mods. Enjoy

Being a mechanic gives you are good start to your project...but good luck anyway. Hopefully the only major item will be the injector pump.

Just a warning on tractor operation. There are posts here on safe operation...read them. Some good (and not so good) YouTube stuff as well. If it looks dangerous it likely is so do not do it. These things can kill you. Get your tires filled. More weight adds both stability and traction.

There are no service manuals for these tractors, only operator and parts, and you will be pressed to find those. You may, however, find manuals for a tractor similar to yours, like a Jinma for instance.
