With the winch, it is an old school Farmi. The pto shaft is bent to #^&$ so it clatters while using it but we only pull at idle.

The fruits of our labour. So far it can pull 3 60 foot spruce or fir from the small end, in snow.

Haven't tryed to push it yet. Did use the winch to pull down a hung tree today too, that was handy.

slowzuki, just make sure you push in low range and you can push till the tries loose traction. I lightened up your pic a bit, nice logs!

Slow,
Nice tractor! What do you think of your dealer? He is the one I use for parts now and may buy new from in a year or so. So I would be interested in your opinon of him.
Enjoy your new rig.
Thanks
Dave

They seem to be a good dealer, I pushed them a bit on price and time so I suspect that is why some things like the oil change got missed. The day I got mine delivered there where 6 other tractors being delivered and they weren't sure they could do mine.

Well I've got over 10 hours on it since getting it last week. Changed the oil last night as it was well over due.

Does anyone follow the filter every 200, oil every 100 hr routine outlined in the manual?

I've learned a few things:
Just cause the doors latch with a light close and seal out noise in this position doesn't mean there isn't another! Shuting them firmly produces a more positive seal!

The oil filler is a %$$%& to get to. Forget it without a funnel with the loader mounted.

It doesn't weigh nearly as much as our previous International. I knew this going it, just takes some getting used to not bulling through.

The R-4's don't have as much traction but are smoother on the road.

The loader and control valve are KILLER on this machine. Beautiful to operate. Combined with the HST I was moving full wet light material bucket loads of sand like a pro and placing them perfectly!

The non worn out hydraulic pump is nice too, no reving to keep it from droping in the raise position, just a rapid raise.

The short wheel base is rougher as expected, the R-4's don't help that much either. I will try lowering the pressures a bit too.

The cab is quiet and rattle free. You can watch it move relative to the loader when driving on the rough stuff.

Need to learn how to remove the top cover of the cab to install radio, rear wiper and rear work lights. Why on earth they don't fit the rear lights standard is beyond me.

Need a bigger tool box. There is a tapped bracket in the cab that looks promising for mounting.

Need touchup paint, lots of small dings upon close inspection. The most curious it the hood latch looks like it cuts into the paint on the hood when it operates.

Started a logbook and keep it in the paper holder thing on the back of the seat.

Need a seatcover. Light coloured cloth seat won't stay clean for long without one. We may resell someday so wish to maintain the unit in good condition.

Will have to install the radio and rear wiper when I get back. From what I remember from a short coversation with the set up guy is that there are two sets of screws, it is the long ones. Remove these and the top comes off, this will take two people to do this properly. If this is wrong. please let me know before I start mine in a few weeks.

Ah the screws are on the inside of the cab? I was looking all over the outside.

Slowzuki,

It's been a year and a half since I had the top off my L3430 cab, but as I remember, it was pretty easy. The screws are on the inside of the cab. Use a #3 phillips head screwdriver so you don't strip the head of the screw. There are approximately 8 to 10 to remove. They are 4 to 4 1/2" long. Not all of the screws around the inside perimeter of the cab secure the top. If you remove a short one, replace it and move on to the next one.

After the screws are removed, make sure you remove the knob on the recirculating lever behind and above your head at the rear of the cab. Then get a second person to help lift the top off.

For rear lights, the wiring is already there. I purchased the factory switch from Kubota and the lights from Fleet Farm. Easy to install.

The radio was easy to install also. However, I purchased the Kubota installation kit with antenna and used a radio out of my old Jeep.

Again use two people to reinstall the top paying particular attention to lining up the recirculating lever at the rear of the cab.

Good Luck!

Just a thought:

On another of my tractors with exterior antenna, the radio never works because I have knocked off the antenna.

When I was installing the radio in my kubota, I think the antenna was plastic covered, so I decided to try just laying it down under the cab top, in the return air cavity, so it would be there as long as I didn't knock off the cab.

It has worked great for over 3 years.
