Well I've got over 10 hours on it since getting it last week. Changed the oil last night as it was well over due.
Does anyone follow the filter every 200, oil every 100 hr routine outlined in the manual?
I've learned a few things:
Just cause the doors latch with a light close and seal out noise in this position doesn't mean there isn't another! Shuting them firmly produces a more positive seal!
The oil filler is a %$$%& to get to. Forget it without a funnel with the loader mounted.
It doesn't weigh nearly as much as our previous International. I knew this going it, just takes some getting used to not bulling through.
The R-4's don't have as much traction but are smoother on the road.
The loader and control valve are KILLER on this machine. Beautiful to operate. Combined with the HST I was moving full wet light material bucket loads of sand like a pro and placing them perfectly!
The non worn out hydraulic pump is nice too, no reving to keep it from droping in the raise position, just a rapid raise.
The short wheel base is rougher as expected, the R-4's don't help that much either. I will try lowering the pressures a bit too.
The cab is quiet and rattle free. You can watch it move relative to the loader when driving on the rough stuff.
Need to learn how to remove the top cover of the cab to install radio, rear wiper and rear work lights. Why on earth they don't fit the rear lights standard is beyond me.
Need a bigger tool box. There is a tapped bracket in the cab that looks promising for mounting.
Need touchup paint, lots of small dings upon close inspection. The most curious it the hood latch looks like it cuts into the paint on the hood when it operates.
Started a logbook and keep it in the paper holder thing on the back of the seat.
Need a seatcover. Light coloured cloth seat won't stay clean for long without one. We may resell someday so wish to maintain the unit in good condition.
