New toys

Thought I would post some pictures of the new toys that I have got to play with.

The excavator is a Mecalac 11 cx which is made in France, it weighs about 8 tons and can be used as a loading shovel, forklift or an excavator. It is supposed to be able to lift over 2.5tons.

The tractor is a Fendt 611 lsa of 1986 vintage. about 105hp.

This week is the first time I have used the digger and I am preparing the ground for a new building.

thats quite the ditch bucket on that machine....

Having the excavator with wheels makes it a little more versatile and also easier on the grass. Looks like that bucket can scoop out a few yards of dirt at a time.
What type of building are you putting?

The building is going to be a 2 story libary/prayer room for my neighbours, who happen to be a Buddist centre.

The wheels do make it possible to move around without causing too much damage to the ground. It also has a road speed of about 20mph (scary)
