I bought my B7800 in March of 2007 and my dealer was happy to replace my seat, for free and this was just LAST week!

It cost me nothing but I did have to let them keep the old seat!

Same for my BX23 which I bought in 2005.
Although I think it was a mistake.
The salesman told me it would be 40 or 50 bucks and when I went in on saturday the parts guy told me it was no charge.

I recommend anyone with the old seat get it replaced with a New BX Seat!

I am new to this site and would not have found out about this otherwise. I just installed the new seat on my 7510 and can't believe the difference! You actually sit down into it, not hold yourself against it.......

For anyone still trying to get the seat issue resolved, go to the Kubota USA web site and contact them through the "contact Kubota" link. It guides you through and you enter your serial number along with your question/comment.

I got a fairly quick reply fro Kubota, unfortunatly they said the seat wasn't considered defective when I bought it (!??!!!?) in january 2006. They suggested I contact the dealer I bought it from.

I went in and asked them about getting a new seat for the B series that was defective. Much to my surprise, they had one in stock. They didn't ask any questions about my tractor and only charged me $50.00.

All in all, I feel fortunate to have resolved all of this in about a week.

OK, folks. The new seat is good and better than the original.

BUT...

The whole system still rides a little hard. When the BX24 bounces, I cannot feel much spring action. Maybe it is because the springs are only in the back.

It seems like additional springs or shocks could help. What can be done to soften the bounces?

Beer, potato chips, chocolate. Long car races on TV. Doughnuts work good, but are filling. NO physical labor of ANY type...if the BH doesn't reach it, DON'T DIG IT. Don't even get the mail...if you have a nice neighbor, they'll bring it to the front door thinking you are on vacation or something.

Or let some air out of your tires, maybe?

Rigid rear suspension vehicles of any type are the same...especially when your keyster sits directly over the rear axle. I think it's amplified in these tractors (vs. a Crapsman, for example) since they are so darn heavy. Just need to ride them like a horse sometimes...keep the bum just off the seat while she's in full gallop.

I already tried all of that. It could be why the springs bottom out when I sit down.

I found that springs from a Cub Cadet 2160 that I have are much less stiff and ride better than the original Kubota springs. They are slightly shorter and smaller in diameter than the 'Bota springs.
