...does not apply to you.

Just like everything else in this debacle disguised as a recall disguised as an improvement, it seems to be up to the individual dealer. I bought mine 1/18/06 and my dealer seems happy as a clam to set me up with a new seat.

My guess is that he ordered a certain number of seats (42), has a certain number of in-stock machines that he's going to swap (24), and is going to sell the rest for $25. While I'm guessing, I'd say that Kubota is supplying this "first run" of seat betterment to the dealer network for free.

Score one for not reading the whole letter, is all I have to say.

Wow, now there's a Catch-22, how would any of us KNOW we had to order it by June 15th if we don't get the proprietary Kubota Bulletins!??
Rediculous!

Let's face it, the original seat "sucks" and we could even go as far to say it's probably unsafe, causing the oeprator to slide forwward, which then operates the seat safety switch, and worse, while on hills.

In the Bulletin (PIB-027-2007) Kubota is painting the picture as an "opinion altering improvement".
This is just a bit of legalese because they cannot admit that it is a real issue, or then they would be be in the position of replacing all of them, at sole cost to KTC.

They wouldn't have a document titled B and BX Seat Program unless there was a real issue.

It's really sounding like there is a disconnect between some of the dealers and Kubota. For everyone's sake, I certainly hope they get it ironed out and live up to their reputation.

If some dealers balk, I can only suggest go to the source, call Kubota Corp.
My dealer said they didn't know about it or ever had anyone complain about the B3030 seat. How are we suppossed to know about the June date if our dealer doesn't know and we never get something letting us, the consumer, know?

Well I got a call from the dealer yesterday and my seat is in , which is still 250 miles away from where I live, so I will have to get a friend of mine out there to pick it up when he comes in this way next week.

Everyone notice that the letter is clear in saying that the seat replacement applies ONLY to tractors invoiced (i.e. SOLD) from May 1, 2007 on, right?

If you bought your tractor, whatever model, before May 1st of this year this seat thing does not apply to you.
Not true. Read the last paragraph, if you please.

The dealer may charge one for labor, but the seat is available and free (to the customer) for replacement. Thus I'll pick mine up while there for warranty work and install it myself.

Today i went to a dealer near Quebec city to by a cab for my BX2350 and i ask the dealer if he was aware about the seat problem for the B and BX. He told me he did not know about that and he will check with Kubota Canada for it.

What happened to the Carver Equipment seats? I dutifully put my order in, but haven't heard a thing...

Do the new seats have pre tapped holes for the arm rest? I emailed Jeff at Messicks about this and he wasn't sure. He said he thought they were but that he has not seen one in person so he could not verify for sure. If any one knows could you please post. Thanks in advance for any info!!

Gave my dealer a call yesterday and he said, Yes he was aware of it and that he had 15 on order and yes I would get one and no I didn't have to call because as soon as they came in, he said he was going to call me and the rest of the folks he sold B's and Bx'es to this year.
I find it hard to believe he only sold 15 Kubota B or BX series tractors this year. I see them everywhere around here, my next door neighbor has a BX.

Slow year or maybe he sold a lot more L Series? :D

Yes there are 6 taped holes, 3 on each sides.

Ummm, since the only copy of the notice that I've seen is that which you so kindly posted, sideways and without page two of two, where might the last paragraph be read.......if you please?

Or is there something relevent which you seem to have blacked out for posting while perhaps still are reading yourself?
