New warranty BX seat!

my dealer told me i have a series 550 serial # so there are no upgraded seats. i dont believe this but maybe its true

Just got my replacement seat and installed it the other day. What a difference!!!
Before I felt like I was sliding forward off the seat, and not much cushion.
Now I sit on top of the seat and it is soft and forgiving. I didn't think that there would be such a big difference in the seat.

My dealer called $50 plus he wants my old seat. I was going to get it from MessickFarm but I figured with shipping it would be in the same ballpark. I called several other dealers and some wanted as much as $70, some would not sell the seat if I did not buy the tractor from them, go figure, looks like dealers are making it up as they go. My tractor is a BX2200 from 2002.

Ummm, since the only copy of the notice that I've seen is that which you so kindly posted, sideways and without page two of two, where might the last paragraph be read.......if you please?

Or is there something relevent which you seem to have blacked out for posting while perhaps still are reading yourself?

I got that from the dealer just like it is. I edited nothing.

my dealer said he punched in the serial number and the computer says no updates needed for that unit

All this seat talk has me wondering about the seat on my BX23.
It seemed ok untill I read this thread .
Now I am wondering if the new seat will fit my tractor.
I do tend to slide forward on it.
Anyone know if it will fit the 23?

I talked to a dealer rep at a county fair yesterday and he said he heard that there were 16,000 seats on backorder nationwide
They also had a brand new BX24 with a Wallenstein thumb for $15,400. Looked like quite a deal to me.

I bought my BX 2350 last August. I called my dealer Thursday and asked about the seat. They had them in stock for $50. I went right over and picked one up. I hesitated a bit, because I don't think the original seat is that bad, but I figured what's another $50 for something I'll enjoy for many years.

A sales person told me they ordered 150 seats, but only got 12 in the first shipment. She said that when they had a bigger stock available they were going to send out a postcard notifying all owners of BX and B series tractors of the situation.

The seat could not have been easier to install. Let me be the first to say that I'm not 100% sure the seat is a big upgrade. While the original seat seemed odd to me, I felt that it forced me to sit with good posture, which prevents back pain from happening. I've got a car like that. The seats are as hard as a rock, but you can drive all day without getting a sore back. The new seat is wider, much softer, and much more form-fitting, and I like it very much, but it kind of makes you slouch a bit, as opposed to sitting upright. I've only spent a couple of hours on it and it was good, but I'm curious to see what happens in a few days when I need to spend most of a day out mowing.
