New7040 tire option

i hate to bring up an old thread but im in the market for a 7040 and was thinking of also going to an oversized tire but in a nokian radial. just wondering how it has been working out for you and most importantly to me anyway, how did it affect the tractors top speed? i do commercial snow removal and transport speed is a big concern of mine.

It still runs same speed,have close to 250hrs on it and they havent seemed to be an issue...

Close to me is a new 7040 with R4 tires and looks great. Salesman said I was crazy for thinking it would be ok. 7040 quoted at 45.9 with rear wiper defrost and 8560 at $53k

What did the salesman think you was crazy about being okay?

He seemed certain R4s where the worst in terms of traction, which is probably true dealing with mud and other extreme conditions. I do dirt work as well as mow and other stuff, and some applications regular ag V tires are just too aggressive for my needs and they leave marks where as R4s have a flatter profile. Any complaints with your 7040? Do you do alot of mowing and haying/baling with yours. Happy with the machines? Thanks in advance.

Do lots of mowing somewhere in the 300acres and. Cut bale 30acres,3 times a year regular,sometimes more. The 7040 with larger front tires is way smoother on rough pasture,I would upgrade to air-ride.
As for the tractor,have never had any issues with them,no warrenty work what so ever done.
They are light in rear,I added fluid to tires.much better now.
Easy to leave emergency brake on,so if you use it make sure its set all the way down,it reminds you a lot faster its on,cause tractor will strain more to take off.
Loader is really easy to take off,I can get mine off and back on in just couple minutes,takes longer to hook the hyd.hoses than anything.
I widened my stance out,doesn't feel as tippy now.

I have a new M7040 with Ultrgrand cab and FEL. I got the Mitas R4 tires which saved me $1,500 over radials.
I paid $41,000 for the tractor in Canada. No taxes because the pto horsepower is greater than 60.
I like the R4's because they do not tear up lawn and smooth areas like the true aggressive tread ag tires.
I had good luck all winter with the R4's blowing snow with an inverted blower (you drive thru the snow before the blower gets rid of it) so traction is important.
In the past I have damaged a number of expensive radial tires by cutting the sidewalls when up against a rock. The R4's seem to have much tougher sidewalls.
If you are in muddy fields pulling a plow then the R4's might not manage the mud as well as the radial ag tires

I will get it measured what the stock one is and what the new one is,as soon I get some stuff moved back home from lease. May be around sunday before get the tractor back home...

94BULLIT the new tires are only about an inch taller but the new 9.5s are an inch taller than the worn ones on the front of the older 7040....

I seen where I forgot to get the measurements for yall,will work on it today and get the side by side photos....
