I just purchased a used NH 451 sickle bar mower and was wondering if anyone knows where I could find a (free) PDF owners manual on it? Parts manual would be nice too. I have both manuals for our older NH 450 mower, but I'm not sure if there are any subtle differences in adjustments/measurements between the two.
As for my other question, I'll be purchasing a new knife assy. as a spare, and I'm considering going to bolt-on sections when I do. I know the required changes need to run the bolt-on sections (higher hold down clips), but was wondering if these higher clips and the little bolt heads protruding catch more grass on them and would cause more frequent plugging? I have dealt with bolt on sections on combines and haybines, but they have a reel to keep the grass moving. Not sure if this is an issue or not, but I don't want to do anything to diminish cutting performance since I'll be using it as my primary hay mower for about 30ac of mixed grass hay.
