I'd like to be after you Brandon. I expect to have the loader in 2 weeks so I'll use it to check the dealers installation of the unit. I'll PM you with my address in a few days.

Spence, Thanks for the caution about the hose. I'm sure it'll save someone from getting hurt or at least breaking or marring their tractor.

This offer is very generous. I'd like to see all the starting pressures posted here. It would be interesting to see how close they are to spec.

Thanks Spencer, I understand the procedure now. And, good point about the hose under pressure. I would'nt of thought of that and got whipped in the head /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif

If I get it on Monday I will ship it out again with two or three days. I have the address for the next lucky winner /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Can you lift your front tires now?

With the bucket slightly tilted down - and your lift arm cylinders retracted - do your front tires now come off the ground with ease?

I too need to adjust my pressure as I can not lift the front unless I use the bucket cylinders. I was thinking I would tweek it until I can just barely lift the front. Nothing more - just enough to lift the tires off the ground using the lift arm cylinders - not the bucket cylinder (other than tilting the bucket down to ensure that I have plenty of lift arm stroke to lift the front end) - make sense?

cdcole, yes I have always been able to lift the front end of the tractor off of the ground just by pushing the FEL joystick in the down position, without having to curl the bucket. If you cannot do that I think you would benefit from hooking the gauge up to see what pressure your relief is set to. If it is set to 1800 psi at 2600 rpm then you have something else wrong. Just go up and edit your message and state that you want to use the gauge after DavidJ to ensure your place in line.

Re: Can you lift your front tires now?

BigDave posted some good information over in Mrwurm's Tweaked FEL output thread that I thought should be included into this thread. My owners manual states that the 7308 should have 1800 psi at 2600 rpm's when mounted on a TC33D. BigDave actually has a repair manual that goes into detail on the pressure and is probably more accurate than my owners manual. Here is the text from BigDave's post:

-----------------------------------------------------------------------

I think the 1800 psi at 2600rpm may be for comparison sake only.

I broke out my TC33D repair manual and here is what is says:

FRONT (DOUBLE SPOOL) REMOTE VALVE

1. Install a 0-207 bar (0-3000 PSI) pressure gauge to the high-pressure tube, 1. (top hyd connection)

2. Start the engine and operate the hydraulic system to warm the hydraulic fluid to normal operating temperature.

3.Set the throttle at full throttle. (2800rpm)

4. Move the control lever to lift control-raising position and observe pressure indication on the gauge. Pressure should be 121 bar (1750 psi).

5.If required, adjust the relief valve by loosening the locknut and turning the adjusting screw, refer to items 15 and 16, Figure 8-76.

My additions are in blue.

You guys will have to make your own decisions on what pressure to go with. Maybe Spencer200 will jump in here with some of his expertise.

Jerry, thats great that you got it so fast. Heres another tip: Make sure the tractor is off, run the FEL joystick through all the motions to relieve pressure on all the lines, just as you would if you were removing the FEL before you try to disconnect any of the quick disconnects. Turn the tractor off and relieve pressure again before trying to remove the gauge. I know everyone knows this but I thought I would post a reminder.

Jerry, Since we both have the same setup (tractor and loader), could you post a pic of the valve with the tester installed? I haven't got my service manual yet and I want to be sure I put the guage in the right place. Thanks.

Ok, I'll post a few pictures of the process. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
