NH 8240 Trouble Codes? E46

I'm over from the Kubota side, to ask a few questions regarding a good friend and neighbor's 8240 Cab tractor. I have yet to look at it, but he tells me it's got some sort of electronic shifting mechanism for the transmission, and it's stuck in "Limp Mode". It's giving him an E46 trouble code, but we've yet to figure out what this code means.


Can anyone shed some light onto what this code is pointing towards? I'll be tinkering on it over the next few days in between work and farm commitments, but would like to know ahead of time what it means.

Likely one of the pressure sensors on the powershift. He likely has an 8240 SLE with the 6 x 3 powershift tranny.

In limp mode it may require the clutch to shift or the shifts may be very rough, the transmission uses a number of sensors to smooth out the shifts.
