NH electrical systems....... junk

I do not have any of the engine issues you have but the seat lever was replaced under warranty for me. Mine broke right away and NH had a lot of issues with these the first year. But I do know it didn't cost me a cent so it was either warranty or a NH recall.

That does sound like lemon issues.... No reason that low hour machine should be in such bad shape. Musta been started on a friday, and finished on a monday.. and half way thru assembly, they told the guy he wasn't getting a bonus.. then an hour later they told him todays was his last day.. then he real quick 'finished' your tractor...

The first year I was so mad I called New Holland corporate offices. the went tsk tsk and offered lots of sympathy and told me to go through my dealer. I told them for the most part my dealer had been helpful but I thought it was a lemon and should be replaced. You could hear them laughing all the way back to italy.
Did I mention the bar that releases the pawl to move the seat broke the first year? the pin it pivots on ovaled out weakening it and i went to adjust the seat (silly me) and it broke off in my hand. Not under warranty of course. About every ten or fifteen hours of operation I wash the engine because the fan blows the fuel that leaks from the joints in the fuel pump back on the engine and it collects a lot of dirt. The engine weeps on the left side of the engine. But hey it DOES have 398 hours on it. whew

 well back from vacation, first weekend to put new dash in. So I sit at the computer with my 100 dollar CDROM shop manual to get wiring diagrams.
The only thing worse than my tractor is their manual. Lines representing circuits fade into nothing. Don't even try and guess what the wire color codes are. the more you enlarge them the worse it gets. no way to read half of the wiring diagrams they are so poorly reproduced. I guess they never heard of proof reading.

So I am going to spend the day with a meter hooking up the switches in the dash. Of course it may be an exercise in futility because the emergency flasher and corner lights haven't worked in years. I got new switches but Only because the old ones could not be removed without breaking them. A nice design feature. If you sell switches.

If you have to.. just install new circuits to the flashers, and drop in a 2$ generic flasher element from napa, and your own switch.. find power at the back of the fuse box.. and ground is evident.

Instant 'bypas' circuits..

Sometimes easier than repair old wireing..or removing it.. if it is embedded in mass trunk wireing..

yep. just got back and put the new dash panel in. illumination circuit for hazard flasher is dead. Thats okay cause there is nothing in there to connect to hazard flasher anyway. Turn signals dead. One thing I noticed when the tractor was new. When I would use turn signal, opposite side would light continuously and then go out when signal was turned off. Always struck me as odd. Sincere there are no brake lights on it they used the red lenses for turn signals and amber for running lights. If they felt a need for turn signals why not brake lights? And what ARE the corner lights for? like a parking light. no good for illumination. at least I can start it without jumping solenoid now.Dash lights work. 398 hours. I may break 400 hours yet.
I was thinking that one day I will drop the FEL and brackets off and start pulling that cheesy wiring out and redo the tractor. Then I can upgrade all lighting, relays and switches. I could cut out the section on the left with the stock rocker switches and drop in a mini panel with all custom switches that actuall work.An a high quality fuse block to top it off. At least now I can jump on it, turn the key and get some work done. Next project will be a new fuel tank and sender.

My TN turn lights do the same thing. It is to bring attention to other people on the road that you really are turning. How many times have you seen someone driving down the road with only one flasher working. This way, people behind your or in front can see both lights work and that you intend to turn. The cabbed TN's have brake lights though.

The front corner lights are great if you do any work at night. They do a wonderful job of lighting up the sides of the tractor and lets you see all around the machine (at least all around in front of the rear tires). The only better lighting system is the cab where you can angle the cab lights outwards also. The front corner lights help with almost every night job you have that you need to pay close attention to near the tires or sides of the tractors (plowing, working near fence rows or trees...). They have their use but if you don't use the tractor much at night then they really have no significant use for you.

I need to mount some good aftermarket lights on the ROPS. The FEL bucket blocks the headlights unless I hold the bucket really high or really low and the FEL hardward pretty much keeps the corner lights from being useful....... hmmm unless I had to work on the tractor at night. lol

The corner lights shoot outwards and down. The loader frame does not interfere withe them anywhere near like the front lights.

Pretty much any tractor's turn signals operate the way you describe; the offside lamp is continuous. Some of the lighting including the front marker lamps are there to meet European spec's. I am not so very sure that TN's don't have brake lights. Both brakes have to be activated. There are pressure switches near the master cylinder.

Rick, the standard TN open station tractor does not have brake lights. At least mine doesn't. I know the cabbed TN's do though.
