Neutral Safety Switch (NSS), it is what is on the pto lever, parking brake and shuttle lever

So it has multiple NSS on the machine?

(from memory only, it's been a full year now.......) I believe the shuttle and PTO switches are part of the NSS curcuit. P-brake and seat switch are tied together with ignition so as to require brake on w/ key off, etc. but is not part of the NSS circuit per se. PowerShuttle tractors also have a NSS on the clutch pedal, as well as shuttle lever.

That is a lot of switches.
Thanks for the answer, Bob

Rick is right. the no crank was related to pulling the deck plates. The sad thing was I checked the wiring and connections TWICE before replacing the deck plates. My bad.
I am in Panama City Florida. redneck riviera.
I guess the thing to do is pull the wheel and get the experience. Maybe it won't be as bad as I expect. And Like Rick, I'll do about anything to avoid pulling those deck plates again.
For a first tractor this one has been a learning experience. LOL

you are right BobRip. A sad commentary when agricultural equipment has to be protected from the elements to keep it from disintergrating
With the increased use of electronics in engine and fuel management systems, I would think that protecting these systems from the elements would be a priority. Don't blame the manufacturers, blame the EPA.

The EPA might require a control but CNH designed built and assembled it. the EPA didn't make them use cheap crap for the dash panel and didn't make them use crappy switches and fuses and wiring slightly thicker than 30# test fishing line.
All of the connectors under the hood of my Tundra have dielctric grease in them and the tractor should have as well, but hey, they saved 2 cents.

Tomorrow I am pulling the rear wheel to check wiring.

:D Wow I wish I had known it was that easy to pull the rear wheel a couple years ago. I was really surprised. I just leaned it against the front wheel/ FEL frame, did my thing and rolled it back in. Wasn't as hard to remount on the hub as I thought it would be!
As I thought it was PTO switch. The plug is not tight and easy to knock loose without some kind of latch. It is a N/O N/C combination switch. N/C for the Start interlock and N/O for the PTO light.
I had ordered the manual on CD and it just got here so will check my wiring diagrams. It covers TN55,TN65,TN70 and TN75 units.
I got all the switches and instrument cluster mounted in new Dash and have it ready to install. I checked the fuse block and it is really a piece of junk. I am going to bypass the one that is burned out (with a single type fuse holder) so I can run the tractor. I will look for a decent after market fuse block to replace it with.

Oh, while looking at the wiring diagram I remembered there is an alarm related to the seat. I forgot because at 30 hours the circuit failed and all night long the alarm would go off intermitantly. beep beep beep beep beep all night long.
don't need THAT circuit any more.

Keep us up to date on your progress.

How are the CDs working? Worth the money?

I still think your unit is not indicative of the entire CNH product line.. rather you got one with bad parts. As I've said.. many of us here have newer machines with dashes that are fine.. switchs and wireing too.. and some let their machines set in the weather too.

All the oem switches on my 7610s work fine.. I know the prev owner let it stay out in the weather... same for my ford 5000... it looks like it lived out in the weather from day 1... and it had the oem start switch, key, and headlamp switch... all still work.. same with the dash.. still there.. still working... though i did have to replace a bulb and a fuse... not bad for a 31 year old plastic dash and switches..

( of course.. the oem ignition switch on my 54 NAA and 55 660 are still working too.... )
