Soundguy, you are making my point. FORD had great tractors. Fiat bought the Ford tractor division and has cheapened them. They left them blue for a reason. People think it is still a Ford. Not in quality it isn't.

Today I'll go pop the dash back in and see if I can make it work. I need to connect the Diff Lock linkage because the keeper jumped off in the woods awhile back. I guess I get to pull the right side tire now. :D

The keepers are actually easy to pop on, if you can reach it with your arm you should be able to pop it back on without pulling a tire.

This is your experience and your opinion. There are plenty of other people on this site, the majority of people, who own NH tractors with the exact opposite experience and exact opposite opinion.

As Mikepa just said.. there are plenty of us that also have Nh units.. with no issues. .. example.. my well weathered 7610s has a rock solid dash and switches... Like I said.. i think you got a bad set of dash parts.. just plain bad luck of the draw.. hopefully now with new parts in her, she will live up to meet your needs.

I am happy that someone is having food luck with their CNH product. And MikePA is right it's my opinion based on my experience.

As for the CD manual...... I haven't gone into a lot of detail yet except for the wiring diagrams. It is annoying that you can't install it on computer, have to run in CD drive. And you need a password each time you want to look at it.
The wiring diagrams are teeny tiny and when you blow then up to see better some of the text become unreadable. Also some of the line that represent wires fade out and usually start up again. Using a couple of drawing it is possible to figure it out. I am assuming it is the photo and not as bad on printed manual.

I have looked in the manual to find the definition of ISO and NASO. I am guessing NASO is the North American unit because it seems closer to mine.

Later I will just check out other parts of the manual to see how it compares. I am used to toyota manuals which are quite comprehensive.

The disc is copy protected. This has annoyed me enough I am going to make it a point to crack it and make copies. Just to keep in case this disc crashes.

Can you print from it?

I can print from it but only a whol page. Can't print enlargements. they have the files locked down pretty good. they are all password protected through adobe and cannot even be viewed with adobe outside the catalog.
AND if I open the catalog, even if I close it I cannot use my web browser or other adobe files unless I reboot the computer.....

If this electrical problem and dash problem was as widespread as you think; CNH would have a class action lawsuit by now or a system bulletin out how to solve the problem. Foe sure they (CNH) would have a new supplier of dashes and wiring harnesses. I feel sorry for you dilemna; I WOULD BE TALKING TO THE DEALER; CNH and anyone else who will listen. Maybe something can be done to solve your "lemon" issue. GOOD LUCK.

Wow, with all those restrictions, I would return it and get my money back.

DQDAVE:

The first year I was so mad I called New Holland corporate offices. the went tsk tsk and offered lots of sympathy and told me to go through my dealer. I told them for the most part my dealer had been helpful but I thought it was a lemon and should be replaced. You could hear them laughing all the way back to italy.
Did I mention the bar that releases the pawl to move the seat broke the first year? the pin it pivots on ovaled out weakening it and i went to adjust the seat (silly me) and it broke off in my hand. Not under warranty of course. About every ten or fifteen hours of operation I wash the engine because the fan blows the fuel that leaks from the joints in the fuel pump back on the engine and it collects a lot of dirt. The engine weeps on the left side of the engine. But hey it DOES have 398 hours on it. whew
