My TC35 has weak hydraulics when hot, fine when cold. It has only 450 hours on it so I would hope the pump is not warn at only 450 hours. Anyone had any simililar problem on a TC35,40 or 45 gear tractor?

have you changed your hydro filters.they could be stopped up an not letting the oil flow like it should.thus making it get hot an stop working after awhile.

I'm with bigbull,
have you done you scheduled P.M's on your tractor? As I would start there.

Yes the filter and the hydraulic fluid were changed less than 50 hours ago.

You cannot make an objective qualitative judgement of your hydraulic performance without a pressure test. Do you have a loader where you could put a pressure gage at the quick connects? How are you judging your hydraulics? Does it lift something on the 3PH when cold, but not when hot? Is the loader weak? You've GOT to know the pressure. No responsible tech would adjust your pressure without testing it first.

Without seeing your machine, problems when hot typically boil down to something having excess clearance and internal leaks. Perhaps an O-ring failing in the valve, the pump is worn out, a cylinder is leaking/bypassing inside, etc.
You can't diagnose this sort of problem without finding out what pressure the system is putting out under load.

Pressure, pressure. It's half the equation, and even when the flow is going to sleep, your relief pressure is probably being maintained. A full-blown pressure/flow test is indicated. That said, clean oil, fresh filters and diminished performance as the oil temp increases more often than not indicates a worn pump. And no, pump failures are not typical of Nh TC Class III CUT's.

I don't mean to wear it out but that's exactly the step I'd take before going on to anything else.......

RickB, I guess you see "weak" as meaning slow. To me, weak means it doesn't have the power to lift at any speed. If the relief pressure was being met, would the hydraulics be weak or slow? I agree completely that a full pressure-flow test is indicated, but I would still like to know how newlife defines "weak."

Weak is often slow, as a partial load in the loader or on the hitch makes the system develop less than relief pressure.

Better to ask the OP what he means by 'weak' than to ask me.

I just borrowed a pressure gauge and a flow meter. when I go up to our summerplace next week I am going to check both pressure and flow. I talked to the service dept at the NH dealer closest to the tractor,(100+ miles away) he said the pump should not be worn out after only 450 hours. He had a similar problem on a TC48 and it was a defective plug in the power beyond circuit of the loader control. Film at 11.

It acts as though the pressure relief valve get turned down when the oil is hot. The FEL will not lift things it will lift when cold. I will find out then I do the pressure/flow test.

I don't think it is a leaking power beyond plug because that would not have any effect on loader operation. It would only change the pressure for the 3PH or any remote hydraulic connections. When the power beyond plug is completely loose, the 3PH won't work at all. I would think the diverter valve might be leaking or the relief valve, but not the power beyond.

I'm really interested in what your test results show. You now have the right tools to make a determination of system condition.
