Hey Jim, I got to crank it up today on the lot and get a feel for it.

The L39 is really an awesome piece of equipment.

The TL1000 FEL (72" heavy duty round QA bucket) and BT1000 BH with 18" bucket are both impressive as is the integrated frame. The reason they were able to slope down the hood is the battery is not in front of the radiator like on my L-3130, instead it has been moved over to the side where you step up onto the deck and in its place is a hydraulic fluid cooler in front of the radiator, kinda like what you see on an HST.

The 12 speed GST shifter is over on the right hand side where the entire dashboard is located instead of on the left side like my L-3130. And the swivel seat works great with plenty of room to walk around the side to the BH. The BH iron is quite beefy, as are the hydraulic cylinders powering the boom, dipper, etc.

The IND tires do make it look real compact for some reason, they are not very tall and no where near as tall as the AG1's on our L-3130, maybe an optical illusion until I see it out here in the woods on our place. It is larger than the previous L-35 though for sure.

They are delivering it here to the farm tomorrow PM so I'll take some pics close up then, it was raining all day here today but will clear out for the weekend for me to spend some seat time getting acquainted with our new workhorse! /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif

When they delivered my L48 a couple of weeks ago, all I did at night is play. You will like the up high work lights. Isn’t the walk through feature fantastic! That hoe is huge too. I was ripping out huge frozen apple tree stumps yesterday..no problem. I kinda wish my L48 was GST, much better range selection. I drove my tractor to it’s first paying job on the other side of town, and it was uphill at a whopping 4MPH for several miles uphill. Yahooooo! Those loader arms sure are straight too, how do you like them? How about the self level? L48 is just OK

Congratulations

Yes, the elevated work lights are indeed a delight as is the wide walk through and seat swivel back to the hoe. It is a compact powerhouse for sure with mucho steel and the hydraulic cylinders are at least 3" diameter - massive. The FEL is nothing to sniff at either!

Was not able to get an OEM installed BH thumb so will be working on that in the future. I have plenty of stumps to rip to start out with.

I really like the 12 speed GST too, it is a piece of cake to operate. Maybe get some action pics tonight or tomorrow to share. /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

Skypup, Congratulations on your new machine! /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif I have been waiting for you to post some comments or pictures of the new L39. How much bigger is the L39 as compared to the L35? Is it noticably alot bigger? I am still waiting to decide as whether to buy the L39 or L35? I purchased a new L35 on 12/31/04 and it is still setting on the dealers lot. Waiting for some L39 feedback before taking delivery. Probably still can switch to the L39 if i decide, however, I don't want a machine any bigger than the L35.

Best of luck with your new machine!
Jon

Get the L39, it is 20% more powerful than the L35 ( the TL1000 FEL and BT100 are greatly improved over the L35's) and basically the same size, a real sweet compact powerhouse. There is no question about it, the new L39 is a major upgrade to the L35. They both cost the same too, if not less for the L39...... /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

Skypup, I am alittle confused. /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif In an earlier post you stated this about the L39 "It is larger than the previous L-35 though for sure" . However, in your last post you stated that the L39 is basically the same size as the L35. /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif What do you think? It is really hard to tell the difference? I am really struggling to find out the size difference as you probably can tell!

Jon
