I also posted this too:

"It is pretty close to a totally redesigned machine."

"For one the displacement is up from 100cubic inches to 111 and correspondingly horsepower is up from 35 to 39."

"The GST tranny has gone from 8 forward speeds and 8 reverse to 12 forward speeds and 8 reverse."

"The fuel tank has been increased from 9.2 gallons to 10.6."

"The wheelbase has been increased from 66.9 to 68.9 inches and the rear track has been increased from 47.2 to 51.8 inches."

"The movable seat area for the BH has a walk thru area now as well as the instrument panel mounted adjacent to the seat."

"The FEL, BH, Hydraulic Pump, and TPH are all entirely new and upgraded for approx 20% more hydraulic power, including an additional hydraulic pump added to serve the BH swing specifically, plus the FEL is not externally reinforced to the frame like it used to on the L-35. Also the working weight of the TBL has increased from 6,000 to 7,000 pounds."

Hope that helps end your confusion. I'll try to take some pics of it beside my Grand L-3130, it is a much more compact machine physically but also much more powerful physically. /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

Skypup, Thanks for the info! Could you please take those pictures next to your 3130. I talked to my dealer today and he said he would change my paperwork from an L35 to the L39. However, I need to let hin know ASAP. I would appreciate seeing those pictures. /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

Thanks,
Jon

No problem, I'll try to get some pics this weekend. I was going to take a couple in the barn last night but the lighting from the fluoreescent lights does not do justice to the machinery.

The difference in size between the Grand L series and the L39 is significant as the photos will show, the L39 is a much more compact workstation.

Unless you are getting a considerable discount (I mean major discount) on the L35, there is not reason not to get the L39 instead now.

I totally agree after seeing my little unit yesterday. Attached is a picture that shows the substaintial difference between a L48 and a L39 (for size reference). The L39 appeas smaller and is definitely physically smaller than my L3830. However, it does weigh more than the L35. There is no comparison IMO between the L35 and the L39. Go with the L39. It will be worth more in the years to come too.

Skypup, I would be very thankful for those pictures. Also, my dealer is only charging me an extra $800 for the difference between an L35 and a L39. He had already taken a good discount-off the L35 because Kubota had a dealer rebate program on the L35's to move them out of inventory for the L39.

Jim, The tractor comparison looks pretty indicative of the smaller size. Anyway for some more pictures? It would be appreciated!!! /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

Thanks,
Jon.

I'm going to add some pics in new post. This one is getting a bit muddy. You'll see it in a couple of hours.

I think you'd be crazy to get the L35 unless their is some outstanding issue that forces you into the purchase. It's that much nicer... /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Comparo between the L-3130 and the L39.

The TL1000 FEL booms are almost straight.

It is hard to discern in this photo, but the L39 is about two feet lower (shorter down) than the L-3130. Seat height is greatly reduced. My L3130 has AG1's on it compared to the L39's INDs.

The Font end view gives you a little more idea of how much more compact the L35 is. This thing is a beast of burden that almost feels like a track bulldozer, but not quite. It is super compact and highly maneuverable though, which I why I got it. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I'm curious. On a machine that size, how tall is it to the top of the FOPS canopy?
