Jay, why don't you talk to your dealer and ask him the same question? His service manager can probably tell you if you have the proper wiring harness and if the factory joystick will fit the BH valve. He'll also be able to give you an accurate price for the parts.

Gary, on your 2wd/4wd problem, have you tried shifting it out of 4wd while still moving but with essentially no load or with the tractor acutally "pushing" the engine/tranny? This obviously only works if you have trouble going from 4wd to 2wd. If you also have problmes putting into 4wd, I'm not sure this will help. I use to have a similar problem with taking it out of 4wd and found while moving forward at a mph or 2, if I just slightly let up on the forward pedal, and at the same time, shift to 2wd, the shift slides effortlessly. ... just something to try, if you haven't already.

So is it worth putting the range selecter on the the joystick or should I just live with what I have? Which I'll do for a little while, but I was thinking in the future I'd swap them.

What do you think?

Jay I have it and I use it. /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif Although there is a secondary rabbit/turtle switch on the right control console the joystick is where your hand will be most of the time when using the FEL. Shifts are second nature & very easily made from that point. Is the convenience worth $150.00 bucks to me, yes. But then it's your money being spent here not mine. I have the same problem with my tc 45d. The FEL stick broke at about 120 hrs.

JimI, Did you have any trouble from McMaster when trying to get another? I live in Poolville in the Jack,Wise and Parker Co. corners. This is my second NH i have bought from them and have always had excellent service. Yes they even pick it up and bring it back. In most cases in the same day.
Thanks to all now i know i'm not the only one that had that problem.

I got my first one replaced at the 50 hr service right after I started this thread. The second one broke before 100 hours and I "fixed" the problem with two hose clamps. After my warranty expired, NH redesigned the joystick with a much improved design, but I've become attached to the way my joystick works. It takes everything I've thrown at it and shows no signs of breaking. I guess it's kind of my "red badge of courage" and this thread just keeps coming back to life because other people are experiencing the same failure.

If your tractor is in warranty, I am absolutely certain McMaster will take care of you. Glen, the service manager, has always done whatever he can to see my tractor gets fixed. If you haven't been by lately, you may not recognize the place. They have redone their parking lot in front of the store and it is loaded with tractors and equipment. Every day when I drive by, my truck just naturally pulls off the road if I don't stop it. /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif
