nortrac dozer trouble

I didn't resurface the fly wheel, do you think it will be an issue?
If in fact there are little "cracks" in it, known as heat checks, then yes, it could be a real problem depending on how deep they are. They indicate a lot of heat build up either from slipping/riding the clutch or a frozen pilot bearing. But maybe I was just seeing things.:)

I do see the same thing you mentioned in the photo, I believe it was more crud then heat though. I did take the flywheel off and look it over as best I could, couldn't find anything that caused alarm. I did not use a magnifying glass or anything like that, maybe I should have?

I belive you are probably OK then. If you would have needed a magnifying glass to see the heat checks, then they wouldn't be a concern. I usually check the runout of a flywheel with a dial indicator to determine if more than just a face cut is required.
Good job!

:dance1: :drink: :cool2: :cloud9: :D Got everything back together and running, drove it around a bit to make sure everything was good. I then drove it over for some fuel and grease to get ready to put it to work. I hooked up my trailer and loaded 10 logs {8-14diameter by 8.5 to 14.5 feet long} everything worked great. The dozer pulled fine and the clutch worked better then ever.

Thanks again to everyone that helped :)
