An updated version of that quote would include drugs. As the famous quote goes: "I spent most of my money on Alcohol, women and gambling, and I wasted the rest"
71 next week, can't hear as well as I used to but won't need hearing aids for a while yet. Pretty much stopped felling bigger trees since I can't sprint too fast anymore and you never know when a big hickory will have a mind of it's own. Can't walk more than a mile without a hip reminding me that it's there and will be back and ornery the next day. Having to wear pretty strong readers in anything but the best light. I can still play catch with the grandchildren, but they can easily get around on my fast ball now, and my shoulder will hurt for a few days. Can't walk 18 holes, maybe 9, but can still outdrive the kids. Don't Scuba dive anymore as my dive buddies all died.
I'm luckier than a lot of my contemporaries, but I think it's important to push yourself, starting when you're 40ish or you'll be an old crock before your time. My old man was loaded and could afford golf carts, he'd carry his bag 2 or 3 times a year just to show he could still do it. Got hit by a truck while out running at 88. Some sweat getting exercise (work on the farm) sure beats the sweat people get in rehab.
