Who orders white milk when chocolate is an option? Especially a grade schooler. Our cartons had peaks as well, and opening it was always a challenge. If the cardboard separated you basically had to destroy it to open it.

Nope.

They don't have anything actively deployed in the numbers it would take to defeat them. Antimissile systems were banned by both sides to ensure mutual assured destruction. Regan caused quite the stir with the start wars stuff. Don't you remember all that? He even talked about sharing the technology with them. The premise was to use antimissile systems to counter rogue nations. The Russians thought it would be used to counter their missiles. So nope.

Do you really believe the public is informed of secret weapons systems...? if you do you're naive...

we know about the Aegis and the SM-3 Block II-A missile has been proven effective against ICBMs...
We know about this...do you really think we (the public) is completely informed ?...LoL...!

The old song, 'nowehere to run, nowhere to hide' comes to mind. Slow death or quick death, you choose.

Yeh, if the nuke war kicks off, I'ma grab the lawn chair, sit out there and watch all the pretty colors. Don't u guys watch movies? Living in a post apocalypse would be unawesome in all sorts of ways.

Gee, no electricity, no gas (either petroleum or natural), no water and no sunlight either (the dust will block out the sun for years). All living thigs die except for maybe the cockroaches. Been said that they will survive. Like the old adage goes.. 'The meek will inherit the earth' Guess they mean cockroaches.

Watched the flick where those people survived by holing up in some cave somewhere but they eventually died anyway.

I don't see it happening. No world leader would initiate it, they all know the consequences.

Yeah, we did this ... a lot:

Duck And Cover, 2016 | HuffPost

All of the hallways had these with arrows pointing to the basement stairways:

VINTAGE '60S ORIGINAL FALLOUT SHELTER SIGN. GALV.STEEL 10x14 SUPER ...

And these on tops of fire stations and other city buildings:

The Chrysler Air Raid Siren Was So Powerful it Could Induce Rain ...

They were huge. And loud.

Factually accurate? Probably not. But it gave a glimpse of possibilities:

The Day After (1983) | UnRated Film Review Magazine | Movie Reviews ...

scenes&screens — The Day After (1983) Director - Nicholas Meyer,...

A nut job with a terminal disease might do it for spite.
If several bouts of mobilizations (he's gonna have more) won't provide him a victory, more likely is him using tactical nukes. It's just a question where he would chuck them. Naturally, apparent choice is into Ukraine, but actually I think he'd be gunning for a sparingly populated yet tactically relevant area in Poland and/or the Baltics. A show of force, like hey look what I'm willing to do...then he's hoping for a harried peace deal in the UN in lieu of nuclear escalation.
