Oh yes!!!! I grew up in Krystal Kountry and recall the days (that now seem) long ago when they made waffles fresh hot & buttery, cooked up eggs on the griddle just right along w/ nice hot grits. What a breakfast!!! Then there was lunch and their world famous burgers. Sadly all that remains are the burgers. Now its breakfast in a cup sort of thing that everybody and their cousin does.
I moved away for a number of yrs but never failed to go Krystaling when I was home. Now that Im back here FT I eat there once (and sometimes more)/week.
BTW I lived in NC for a short time and your closest 'fix' is Asheville. Sad but true NC seems not to NOT be the culinary center of the world and just barely can be called a southern state.
Shocking but true VA has NO Krystals. Whats up w/ that??
LOL...I completely ignore the calorie sheets the fast food places publish. Hey, NO one should be doing fast food b/c its healthy. Its only supposed to taste good.
I think Hardies is on the right track in that regard....the bigger and greasier it is the better.
Nothing tastes so good as when cooked in lard.
