I was cutting with my brush hog and kept getting kit by shafts. I have a MF-50 and it sits low. I try to keep the front down as much as possible. The thing that helps is to raise the back so the hog sits 180 not at an angle.

I like the idea of this screen. I had the idea of using old mower blades and welding chain links onto them then attaching them by bold to the hog. But the blade on my king kutter 5' extends about 3" out of the front. So the chains would hit the blades. What kind of rubber or tarp do you have on it. It looks light but tough.

I bought some 3/8" nylon reinforced rubber from a fan belt distributor. Cut it o it would lay right on the ground when the hog is down. Use the holes that were already on the hog and bolted them in. Sweet setup, very cheap and very safe nothing comes out of that brush hog.

A couple of years ago I had lots of little nasty objects flying from under a bush hog. Was helping a friend clip his pasture with his big hog (15'). I hooked it up and then engaged the PTO to make sure everything was ok. Everything was NOT ok. Yellow jackets had built a nest underneath it and were very excited, I joined in the spirit and got very excited too. Ran like the wind /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif
Went back later and shut the tractor off, then sprayed the jackets down after dark.
