I've looked all over Amazon for 5 gal pails, but they don't seem to have them listed.
You’re right. They only have 1 and 2.5 gallon jugs and they aren’t that cheap on Amazon. I can buy a 5 gallon pail at my dealer for about $150. The shipping for $140 on line prices pretty well makes your dealer the best cost option.

Gee, you can buy Lucas stuff in 5's on Amazon with free shipping. I just did a few weeks ago. I do imagine the Amascon delivery guy had a time with them, in as much as a 5'er of 85-140 and a 5'er of Red and Tacky grease is pretty stout to get up on the back deck....lol Least I got it in between snow storms. I'd have felt bad if he slipped on the snowy deck and busted his melon.

I haven't actually price checked my dealer but if it was that price It would cost more after the half day trip there to pick it up. There is a dealer closer but before I went there, I'd walk through the Gates of hell and wallow in the ashes before I bought anything from Hoober again

At our local Cummins shop it’s $30/gallon. Not really cheap, but it seems like good oil.

Yeah, I was wondering about the hydrostatic tractor fluid. I was talking to my Kubota mechanic about the fluids I should use in my new tractor. He comes to my house and does all my regular maintenance like oil changes and other general things that need to be done on a regular basis. I asked him if I needed to use Kubota's high dollar lubricants if I wanted it to last a long time. He told me as far as motor oil was concerned to use a good quality oil that is in the correct weight range and specs, and I would be good. But he did say it would be best to use Kubota's brand in the Hydro fluid. He didn't say why he just said there is something in their oil that those Hydros liked. I have about 40 more hours to go before it needs to be changed and have a couple other things that need to be checked and was wondering if I really needed to use their hydro fluid. When he comes buy to do regular maintenance things he goes away from here with between $450 and $500. I know I could do it cheaper doing it myself just not sure about the transmission fluid.
You might want to stay with the Kubota oil (especially if it recommends that the UDT is the oil to use. I tried a different brand and my clutches and brakes started to chatter. I drained the oil and put the Kubota oil in my HST and the chatter was reduced to a great degree. The chatter is slowly going away as I use my L3710 more.
Engine oil has been no problem in using another brand, as long as it meets the API spec. The clutches in the transmission and the wet brakes sure do like whatever additive that the UDT / Super UDT has in it. I was not about to do my own testing of all available brands to find any other brand that may work as well.
Seat of the pants experience.

In some cases, the only difference between OEM oil and others is the warranty. With new machinery, it's best to check the fine print to see if it's voided by the used of non OEM under spec products.
As long as the oil meets the spect on the oil that the tractor company sets they are required by Government mandate to honor the warranty

Bought 2 gallons of Rotella T6 5w40 at Menards yesterday $49
Planning to change oil after clearing the yard from this supposedly big snow storm, supposed to get 3-5 inches but so far it hasn’t even covered the grass on my lawn.

I am not aware of any tractor manufacturer that "makes" or packages their own oil. I use Rotella oil in my tractors, they are older, without any problems. The main thing is to use a good quality oil and filter and to change it regularly.
