Off road diesel in pickup.

These people complaining about their "rights"?? To bad we have laws and they have the right to enforce them.

Checking someone without cause is not enforcing the law. We do have a 4th Amendment in US, though obviously I am not a lawyer.

We have given up to many rights. The government should need a warrant and cause to search you.

People complain that this makes it hard to catch people, I agree, but that is the burden of our Constition.

I argue similar this against the DNR and hunters. If you have a loaded gun, after sunset, you are ticketed. But they never say me point that gun anything, and you may just be walking down the trail, making tons of noise. It is like giving me a speeding ticket cause my car can go fast.

Why do I have to give up my 2nd Amendment rights to make it easier to catch poachers?

OK, sorry for getting so far off topic here.
Red diesel is not going to hurt any diesel engine. It's the same fuel with red dye in it. The only difference is the tax not payed while buying it. .

Some people debate that the low sulfur road diesel does not have the lube that off road does, and is not good for older tractors. I dunno.

Simply not true. It's the same fuel.

It is the same fuel here. But it seems possible that this is not the case everywhere. Here Furnace fuel comes out of the same tank on the delivery truck as dyed diesel, but is just taxed differently.

I'm glad to hear that there are areas where the RIDE programs have been abolished. I don't get it. Millions of people are stopped without cause, yet when someone drinks, drives and hurts or kills someone, they arn't dealt with harshly (here) at all. Makes me wonder if the RIDE programs are just about extra Christmas Money (Overtime) for the cops.

I carry a "red fuel" transfer tank/pump in my Super Duty. They determine improper use by sticking the truck's fuel tank. Here they use a wand with a sponge end that absorbs the red dye and clearly shows a violation.

Here they stick a clear tube in and pull a sample and hold it near a card to determine color.

DOT will pull into our yard and stick every tank on every vehicle that has a license tag on it. no tag, no stick.

I think I might buy some marvel mystery oil or atf fluid and add to the diesel, wink, wink.

As I said in my other message, it is COMMON for a dot compliance officer to pull in and start sticking tanks.

anything with a tag gets stuck..

I can't believe they would come on private property. Who is to say that any particular vehicle will go back out on the road, tag or no tag?

That's how it is here too. No problem with red fuel in my bed tank as long as it's not plumbed into the truck's system. Red ruel in the truck's tank spells problems.

I've never heard of anyone denying access to them?? Has anyone experienced that first hand?? When I say experienced I mean witnessed and/or saw the results??

Agree. How can they enforce that?

I would enjoy standing up to them, for those who are to weak.
