Off Road Diesel

What does it cost per gallon in your area ?
I filled up a couple weeks ago and was charged $1.40 per gallon.

Yes, I guess so. Off road averages around $2.30 here in the Cheney/Spokane area.

Fuel prices are changing almost daily. Whatever you pay right now is a bargain.

Off road vs on road diesel? I am sure this has been dealt with but I can't find it. I am getting a new tractor and wonder if there is any quality difference. Local places here sell both, with off road much cheaper.

In idaho... no difference. Comes out of same tank. There is a dye added at pump.

I only use about 200 gal per year of off-road.
There's a local supplier that delivers for a 100G order min.
I've had far too many spinal surgeries to be lifting 5 gal cans of coal & waiting for the gurgles to stop.
Absolutely no difference in quality of fuel.
It's just got the red dye added.

Depending on your retailer, off road diesel and the on-road fuel may be different due to fuel turnover. If you use your diesel tractor in winter, you want winter grade fuel to aid in starting. You retailer may not have the sales volume to keep up with the seasons. I do not use off road diesel for this reason. I buy diesel fuel from retailers that turn diesel fuel over frequently. Truck stops are a good source of fresh fuel that is correct grade for the seasons. BTW, I also add a bit of additive to increase the fuel's lubricity. The current low sulphur diesel fuels are not that friendly with some fuel injection systems.
