off road diesel

Then starts the battle of keeping that fuel clean and free of moisture. Plus the cost of setting up everything (tank, pump).

If I was the OP, I’d install tank in bed of truck and fuel up from there. I wouldn’t know what to do without mine. It’s an essential tool.
I'm currently burning home heating oil that I bought on 3/2020. Its stored outside in a home heating oil tank. I believe I have aboit $300 into the setup. The tank is currently half full and I treated it with power service bio clean aboit 4yrs ago. The goldenrod filter got changed once and stays clean with nothing in the clear bowl. Not much "battle" going on here.
Location is NY.

Don't you hate giving up the truck bed space for it though? Hated the damn service tank in every construction truck I drove.
But now I use 50 ish gallons of diesel a year only.

Around here in Wisconsin there are several outfits that will deliver off road diesel fuel. The same places also deliver gasoline and heating oil. You need to have your own tank to store it in or you could lease a tank. I have been doing business with a local coop for many years, they have regular scheduled routes designed to make sure your getting all the fuel you need when you need it. A simple phone call to one of your local suppliers should get the ball rolling pretty easily. Around here delivered price is usually the same price as buying it at the station. My local coop gives a $10 discount if you pay with cash or check within 10 days of delivery.

No. I have a 9 foot flatbed. 7’ behind it is plenty.

I used to roll the way you do….thinkin outdoor stored old fuel with heat/cold cycles wouldn’t matter.
Then I did a $7,000 injector job.

Good luck.

Lately I see “On-site fuel delivery” trucks. They roll up on you wherever you and your equipment are, and fill you up.
That would be great for me as running down the road to get fuel 3 times a week for 75 gallons at a time is a horrendous waste of my time, and I cannot run a tractor & baler back to my shop every time I need fuel, either.

You ain’t gonna get it delivered for $2.99/gallon though.
