Used to be just get regular diesel from gas station as only use less that 5 gallon per month. Now start to work on the land and used 60 gallon last month. Just want to know where and how to buy red diesel? location: Columbia, South Carolina. Thanks.

Every gas station in our small home town has a pump with red dyed diesel... You might have to ask around your town (or the attendant). Sometimes it's in the back of the store!!! For sure, it's off to the side... Not out front!!!

Here there is not a single station that delivers. There is a place that sells it but they are setup to deliver and won’t fill 5 gallon cans.

Our local COOP has an off-road fuel pump at the stations that are near the farming areas. $.11 a litre cheaper (40 to 50 cents a gallon). The pump is kept locked and you have to go inside to get it unlocked.

If you have to go far to get it, just remember you’re putting wear & tear on your truck, and burning fuel to go get it.

Sounds like you need to have a bulk 200~275 gallon tank so you can have red fuel delivered.

Then starts the battle of keeping that fuel clean and free of moisture. Plus the cost of setting up everything (tank, pump).

If I was the OP, I’d install tank in bed of truck and fuel up from there. I wouldn’t know what to do without mine. It’s an essential tool.

Just north of Columbia the BP in Blythewood (by Langford Road and Hyw 21) has off road diesel.

I also believe that there are a couple places on Hyw 321 that sell it too.

I’m sure there are others places too.

If you have oil heat, do what I do and pump it out of your oil burner storage tank. Around here anyway, home heating oil is red ULS #2, the same as ORD. Check with your supplier first to see if it contains any additives. You might have to add anti gel or anti bacterial agents if you store your equipment outdoors.
