Off Road Dump Trailers Revisted...

Do you remember what kind of suspension the King Kutter trailer had? I had looked at the Country Mfg. trailers a while back and they do look like a really good deal - my problem is that if I spend money on a dump trailer I really need to get something that can go over - highway as well as get pulled behind the tractor. The KingKutter XB/ Pronovost P503H is the only one that seems to fit that bill. I am curious as to what the XB has for suspension - the Pronovost on-highway version of the XB has spring suspension - I suspect that the off-higway version just has swivel point axle or some such thing.

I wish they showed a better view of that King Kutter tailgate; it sounds like a good design to copy for the Country Manufacturing wagon...

Jim, The King Kutter and the Country Mfg tandem axle trailers have the same axle design. They are a "floating" or walking design. neither have springs, just a pivot point that the allows the tires to "walk" over terrain. simple design, like a teeter totter.

Well my wagon was delivered here at work yesterday. The lady told me when I ordered it that it would arrive on a 4’ x 8’ pallet and that it would weigh 500 lb’s. Other people here have posted that it definitely weighs more than that; my trucking slip listed 700 and it’s all of that and probably more. The pallet was in fact 50” wide. The distance between wheel wells on a 1995 Chevy K-2500 is 49”. The loading dock at work is 29” high; the bed height of the above truck is 32” high. We only have pallet jacks here, no fork lift which isn’t a big deal but you can’t pick up the entire 8’ long pallet with a pallet jack, especially not the 3” to make up the difference between the dock and the truck and certainly not enough to lift it over the wheel wells of said truck!
Long story short is we broke down the pallet and loaded my truck part by part during which time the trucks for normal business were waiting because we were tying up one of the docks. The question is: do I buy the dock foreman a six or a twelve pack of his favorite beverage?
The trailer looks pretty good; a bit smaller than I had pictured it. 2-ton capacity? I don’t know… I’d like some feedback from you guys who have used it so far.

I would go with a case... you never know when you might need something else delivered to work.
