Bought this Polaris Ranger EV with new batteries 🔋 5 years ago for 6500 .

Hasn’t cost me a penny more since.

My dad is 85 and having more trouble walking, he has an atv he uses around his ten acres. I’m thinking about buying him a utv that is easy to get in and out of no need for it to be fast just a little more capable off road than a golf cart. Funds are limited looking to spend around

k the most important thing is ease of use and reliability. Thanks for any insight.
I own a Kabota 1100 with a/c and heat. I'm 78 years old with 150 acres. My choice to get around close to the house and barn is a gasoline golf cart. Easy to get in and out, start and go. I got it 20 or so years ago for about $2400. It has mudder tires on the rear and will go about anywhere on the farm which has hills abundant.

A used Kawasaki Mule would be a good option. Easy access, power steering & plenty of options to suit.

I'm like your Dad, over 80, on 40 acres, lots of tractors and horses and only part time help.
I tried the golf carts, used other people's Gators, Looked at ATV and SXS with heated cabs....what's the point.
Recently found a 20 year old S10 Chevy Blazer 4wd...$2000.Small, agile, good in rain, snow, the A/C works and I can go to town for parts if needed.
Tools are out of the weather and I can lock it if needed. But it will rarely leave the farm because I have 3 other newer trucks.
Too many toys!

My 88yo dad uses a Honda 500 SxS to get around at his house... feeding chickens, going to his garden, getting the mail...

If the terrain is not too rugged, I vote Golf Cart, used, gas not batteries.
I have golf carts and an older UTV. Golf carts are cheap to buy used, easy and low cost to maintain,
parts are very cheap to buy compared to any UTV. Plus the golf cart is very easy to slide into, just step
on the gas pedal and go. No cranking, shifting, etc. They ride like a couch on wheels as well.
UTV of any brand require a lot more maintenance comparatively.

I always thought golf carts were flimsy and only meant for golf courses, boy was I wrong. They are super
rugged and simple design. My 2002 Polaris Ranger 500 wears out parts constantly and is way more
of a PITA than the golf carts.

If you're serious about that I would suggest a Track chair! It checkers all your boxes and much safer than a utility! BUT and it's a large one new ones will be around 13 to 14 thousand to start. Nicely equipped around 20k . Google track chair and give it a look! It's what I'd buy for myself. I'm not too far away from your dad's age so that may happen sooner than later.
