Old disc with tree growing around it...

This was left here many years ago (obviously) by my grandfather when he used to farm this land. Does anyone have any idea if it would still be useful? It doesn't look like it has a 3pt attachment on it. Did they used to use 2pt?

Do you think I could cut it out oil it up and use it? or is it just a lawn ornament now?

Cannot tell from the picture just how rusty the discs are etc but I extracted a similar piece from a fence line and used it to disc lightly around the edge of bushlots to encourage tree seedlings -- worked like a charm and then I put it back on the fence line. If worst comes to worst you will get some firewood and scrap

WOW! That has been there for awhile lol. Looks like it could still be useable. Good luck in cutting the tree off of it, looks like its grown in there pretty good.

The discs don't look all toothy, but I bet you'll spend a bunch of time getting them freed up, after you get it free of the tree. It's pretty light, maybe a horse-drawn rig? Looks like a weight platform tipped away from the camera, and tongue in the ground? I'm not sure I'd spend a lot of time on it unless you want/need a handsome old light-duty disc for something.

It took along time to make that conversation piece, I would leave it as is.

It is worth more in it's present position/condition than freed up using it for tillage. If you need a disk buy a newer one with some weight to it.

my neighbor reclaimed an old disk that looked about like that, without the tree.
