I posted a message two nights ago but when I woke up in the morning and checked for responses it was gone. The message was posted in general pricing not JD pricing. Perhaps I overstepped my bounds with the pricing info I posted but I read the boundaries and terms and conditions for posting and I must say I am somewhat baffled. I will be a little less specific this time. I live in western PA and have been considering the purchase of a 4310, 4WD, HST, DSCV, no mid PTO, 84" Frontier Rear Finish Mower, and 6' Rear Blade. Got an excellent price from a dealer in MI but I live 400 miles away in western PA. If I had to buy in PA, I would probably just continue to beat myself up cutting my approximate 12 acres of mix level/hilly lawn and fields with my 46" T-B lawn tractor, which has held up well considering the circumstances. I'll leave out the tractor package pricing questions this time and just ask for opinions on buying a tractor 400 miles away. I also want to add a loader, probably not this year because of budget concerns but I am interested on any comments regarding pricing of a 420 or 430 loader. Good luck to anyone out there searching for that new tractor!

I don't have answers for your questions, but of course your earlier post was not pulled. I think all the moderators send a private message to the poster when we pull a post. You can always go to your profile and at the bottom of the page, click on "Show all user"s posts" and find the one you posted and are looking for if it hasn't been pulled.

In the future, just go to Who's Online, and click on your name. From there you can view all posts that you have written. Seeing that you have only written 3 up to now, it should be very easy to find your "missing" post.

When you make a post that is brand specific, sometimes the moderators will move it to that forum. You might get more answers to your questions that way.

I bought a 430 loader and also a weight box from JD. Cost of the loader (added a toothbar for 275$) was about 3400$ for the loader itself. Be sure and consider a toothbar.

Welcome to TBN. Personally I think that a good dealer is one of the most important factors when buying. If your local dealer is good and you plan on using him for service, then the price difference may not be significant. Personally I might give up a few dollars in the deal to have a good working relationship with the dealer....especially if you plan on buying implements at a later date.

To me that distance seems like a long way to go.

Thanks for your suggestion on the toothbar. I shopped around and found a dealer about a forty mile drive from my home that gave me the deal I needed and it looks like I will have my tractor soon: JD 4310 HST with a 430 loader, heavy duty bucket with tooth bar, and a Woods RD84 finish mower. Thanks to everyone that replied on my two posts as it convinced me shop harder and find a good deal from a local dealer with a good rep.

Is there something I can configure so this will list a large number of my old posts, say 100, per 'page'? I often look for posts I made months ago (when I was asking beginners' questions), and I don't see any easy way to jump back except 20 at a time.

When you are viewing all of your posts, up in the address of your browser will have &Limit=25 somewhere in that string. Just change that to 99 (I think that is the max), and hit enter -- you should now see displayed your last 99 posts, and when you click next, the NEXT 99 should be displayed.
