Here's some photos I took yesterday at the horse barn. I hope they help. (I was almost out the door when I realized I'd forgotten to post them.)

Yes they do help. Usually there are about three ways to do things with the connectors. Each way would work but I am always trying to figure which way is the best for the structural soundness and which way the sheets and trim could be attached.

The wife's temporary carport is taking a beating. I can't wait to finish and have a metal roof!

TxDon, what made that branch fall? Was it the hot as an oven winds that were blowing? Was it dead?

My buddy almost had a 3/4 ton truck totalled by a large tree that fell after a bunch of rain a few years back.

The shed is coming along, looks good. Hope your not trying to work too much past noon. Its Blistering hot folks! Don, you're going to give up on retirement if you work your fingers to the bone.

Kyle, there was no wind or rain and the limb was alive with green leaves. However, it was hollow.
With record highs this week I an taking a break. I'm cleaning out the low ponds and getting stuck. See my post in rural living.:D

Ahhh, the hot dog days of August are finally gone. I found out I can work a couple of hot days in a row but all month of over 100 was too much. I don't know how Harvey does it.

Cooler weather is here (92 degrees) and we are off and building again.

Today we put up the last half of the last rafter.

Collar ties and purlins are next.

Here are a few pictures of my ultimate playground.:)

Old age Don, old age. The older we get the less it hurts. When I was young I thought my dad was tough. But as I've reached his age then I realize it's all smoke and mirrors. The simple fact is when you get old it don't hurt like it did when you were young. Dad wasn't tough, he was old. ROFLOL

The framing looks great. In no time at all you're going to have a great building.

A&M is doing a thing for the pipe and purlin product for us. As I understand it we'll be the first private entity for this program they have for MBA students. It would be great to have some students over at your place to look at the building. Then we could sneak them a peek of the bridge just to watch them ooh and ahh.

Scott told me the other day we need to be there when the skin goes on. He figures your helpinig him was a good turn and deserves another. Plus Bobby is volunteering to help on my web page updating and what better new story than your carport?

Harvey that would be great! It sounds like we need to pick a date. I think to finish up and get the skin we should be ready for a get-together in about 3 to 10 weeks. Any weekend except Oct. 21 is open. We are retired :D so we'll let you hard working people and the students pick a date. Of course BBQ, fixin's, and good TBN company will be the order of the day. Maybe some of the other Texas TBNer's will be able to come. It has been a while since we got together. If Bird can come I'll grab a big bag of peanuts, If not I'll send one back with you. We can't let him continue to eat those imported peanuts.:D

Attached is a stunt you should not try at home. Drilling with one hand and taking a picture with another on top of a ladder.

Let's see, James' wife is retired to she can come, in fact she's got James' four door, she can taxi. Scott's got a four door and he can taxi too.

Seriously, yesterday I was at city hall and one of the powers that be there has been a fan of the web site for a long time. We started talking about the bridge and I've been kinda sorta lonely for a get together with the tbn'rs ever since. It was two years ago this month when all of ya'll showed up at the shop and we, well, I , had some fun, a lot of fun.

We're leaving the middle of October for two weeks vacation out west (Arizona). I'll check with Scott on his availability.

Awright gang, speak up.
