KW, I run 12 king kong carbides and 15 chippers on my 180 cuts down on sharpening time, and a lot more forgiving when you catch debris

That's an interesting approach. A fella from Fecon called and mentioned you were a good source of knowledge. I've been wondering what different cutters would do for head vibration. Do you ever notice a change in operating vibes?

I hit some logging rope yesterday. Made a big fuss but didn't do too much damage to the cutters.

Old fence wire and cable are all over the place in the woods if working near roads and farms. Car tire rims and old bicycles are a real pain in the azz. I've found a few old antique 6ft handsaws. My mulcherhead seems to be an excellent "metal detector"! haahaa

I hear yah on the metal detector. Haven't found a saw short of the skill saw last week. Any survive the discover w/o too much damage?

Metal is tough, the worst I have found is 2" dredge cable. Allot of torch time. But then again carpet and old box spring mattresses are no fun either.

I hit oil field drill stem occasionally. Find it in brush piles that the owners swear was "hand cut and stacked". Half the time the pile was pushed up and has concrete, rebar, and that pipe that's used for fencing down here.
I've hit cable once but the worst "stuck" was getting wrapped up in field fence.

Wow, talk about a day killer.

I hit a bunch of wildlife yesterday. Not too good for the habitat restoration effort. Anyone have any crazy animal stories?

I found a few squatter/bum camps near pier park. They looked wild and were not happy.Does that count as wildlife?
