Ordered Ammo for a gun I don't own

My wife loves her LC380. Very easy to work the slide (she has arthritis). Easy gun to shoot and accurate with the crimson trace laser.
I have a Walter PPK/S. Difficult to work the slide but it is the most accurate pistol I have ever shot....which isn't saying much.lol
Crimson Trace grips on that as well. Fits well in my pocket.

Just checked Midway, they are out of stock now too.....

Handgun preference is largely subjective. If the ammo comes in I might see if the range on the other side of town has any I shoot to try out before I buy.

I haven't been into shooting much at all in recent times and I don't expect that to change. I chose the LCP based on concealability. Then I came across a you tube video talking about how much better the trigger was on the LCP II so that swayed me in that direction.

I agree the 9mm would be better protection but I don't see myself sticking one in my pocket. This whole exercise is probably for naught anyway. I have a 357 mag I carried in the vehicles for years before getting a job at a State University where it wasn't allowed so for the last 25 years I got use to not having it. I tried to get back in the habit but can't even remember to stick it in the car now.

At the end of the day I would just shoot enough to be comfortable I could hit something with it and probably never use it other than to carry. I hope!

What do you hate about the LC9?
Trigger pull?

Trigger pull, vibration, it's clunky, it is a pita to disassemble and I can't get consist grouping whatsoever. I have four 9mm pistols..2 are Sigs...both of those imo are light years more refined. Have a Glock that I have only put 20-25 rounds through but I'm getting to like that one as well.

I have an original LCP and like it. I use the same ammo the OP ordered. The LCP is way down on the list of guns I would want for self defense but has a big advantage, it is very concealable.

That's right!
There's a lot of gun guys who say "When it comes to self defense, the little gun in your pocket is much more effective then that big gun you left at home" or words to that effect.
.380 isn't my favorite caliber (9mm is), but I know I'll have this little .380 on my person when I'm out and about during the warmer months (and lightly dressed compared to cooler months)

Another saying is "Beware of the man with only one gun, because he knows how to use it."

I'm curious too. My LC9 is my EDC. The trigger is fine with some practice. The only issue that I had is some bullet shapes will sometimes jam on the feed ramp, Hornady Critical Defense being one of them. I just stick with Remington 115g hollow points and they function smoothly.

In my opinion (and that of others) the stock LC9 trigger pull was awful.
I sent my gun to Galloway Precision in Fletcher NC. for their upgrade kit, and it is now a whole different gun.
I like it.

Some of these little .380's don't have an external safety. I don't have, or had ever shot, an LC9, but I'd wager the trigger is similar to the LCP.
The trigger pulls tend to be comparable to double action triggers on revolvers...long and harder then a single action pull.
Trigger pull is why I sold my LCP (the original, not the LCP II). Couldn't hit a thing with it...
The Kahrs have no external safety and the long trigger pull is the safety. However, Kahr pistols have a very smooth, albeit long, pull. And, it seems they're all the same, regardless of caliber or model. I can't attest to that with all Kahrs, but both the CW380 and CW9 I own, the trigger is virtually identical.
So, why a long pull? In a self defense situation, one will be in a stress situation. You may want to shoot, but you don't want to shoot unless you are, in fact, ready to shoot. That long pull can prevent an accidental or negligent discharge

The LC9 is not a .380,....... and it does have a safety.
The Galloway Precision trigger upgrade is a major improvement.

Yeah, I was aware of the caliber...I've never shot one...friend of mine has an LC9, but haven't seen it yet.
I'm glad the trigger job did the deed for you!
I haven't had a trigger job done on any of my guns yet. I've kicked it around with a couple revolvers...my semi-autos seem to have fine triggers...but maybe I just don't know what a "good" trigger feels like!

I know a couple lawmen who carry a Beretta Pico 380 in ankle holsters and for a micro back up at the range they tell me no quick fire jams so far .

Another thing I am not a fan of Hi-Point firearms but I have shot a couple of there carbines that other folks owned and imo for the money they functioned great . I say all this to say this Hi-Point makes a carbine in 380 for like $300 .

Just received shipping confirmation from Academy Sports. I wonder why the guy in the store said he couldn't order?

Looking at other gun options and looks like Bass Pro may have a better price but would have to order.

I also ordered some 22LR and plan to shop for a semi auto. Wanting the Savage 64F which the AS guy said he also could not order. They had the LCPII in stock but if I don't want to wait for two background checks I have to buy both guns at the same time and place in FL.
