As you have probably figured out I'm not a gun guy. I don't plan on becoming one but just wanting to expand my small collection and brush up on some skills I haven't used in a while. That said I am learning a lot including how to wade through some of the misinformation.

One of the rounds in my ammo list and gun wants is a semi auto 22 rifle. I had one years ago that got stolen out of my shed where I kept it over the door. In doing my research I came across someone that made the statement that bolt action 22s had higher velocity and accuracy than a semi auto. When I posed that questing in search I found this video that disproves that "theory" and gives a compelling argument why it is false.

Can't beat a Ruger 10/22...especially the take-down models.
I've got two...one a SS take-down, the other a standard "Compact" version. Never any problems with either. The take-down has a threaded barrel and I fire it suppressed. It's actually my favorite rifle.

Bass Pro had both guns I wanted in stock so I went to town and bought them this morning. There were no fewer than 5 other people buying guns when I was in the store. Think people are over reacting or is Monday just a good day to ignore the stay at home order and get a new firearm? :)

I read through this thread and that little 380 shield looks like something I might have to get. Looked at some reviews, most are all positive, but the going price here is $400. I wish this weather would warm up so I can get out and get some work done, sitting here on the computer might get expensive.

Tell me about it. I think that I'm keeping UPS, FedEx, and USPS in the black.

If you want a 9 instead of the 380, they have an EZ in 9mm now. Just slightly larger (not much) and the same EZ action and easy to load mag etc. I predict they will be big sellers as 9mm ammo is always much cheaper and easier to find than 380. Always has been.

I think Smith and Wesson has really tapped into a growing market with their EZ products. Us Baby boomers are a large demographic and our hands are not getting any stronger to pull slides and load mags. I suspect others will follow suite pretty quickly.

Those small 380's are horrible. They will jump right out of your hand. Went to the range and shot several. The absolute only one we liked my wife and I was the S&W 380 EZ so we bought one from Academy. Fantastic gun and shoots amazing. She can rack the slide where she cant with my Taurus 9MM

I have a Sig P230 (the newer P232 is 99% idntical) and it shoots easy.
