O'Reilly Auto for hydraulic hoses

The hose is the cheap part. You are paying for the fittings at the end of the hose. $150 seems expensive to me. I own an old backhoe that's full of hoses and I need to replace several of them every year. The most expensive one that I've ever had done was over $300, but on average, they are under $100

I go to a hydraulic hose company called Aaxion here in Tyler, or Longview TX. Parker Hannifin Hose, Fittings & Connectors | East Texas | Distributor They are only open business hours, so when I've been desperate for a hose on a weekend, I'll go to Napa. I didn't know about O'Reilly, but now that I do, that will be an option for me. If I really need that hose done right away, then price isn't my main concern.

If the fitting is a flat face, be sure to install a brand new O-Ring. I have several kits from Amazon that have every size I've ever needed.

The last hose I replaced was just a couple weeks ago. It cost my $85. It was on the boom of my backhoe, and so tight next to the other hoses that I had to remove a hose to get to the bad one. When I put it back together, I replaced the O-Rings with new ones. For me, the fittings for both hoses took a total of four different wrenches. They make them different sizes, so you don't cross one hose with another.

I've been fleeced by the local auto parts stores on hydraulic hoses in the past, when I had to get the tractor going NOW. When I can catch hoses getting in rough shape as I did just this past week when I rebuilt my toplink cylinder I order from Surplus Center. I ordered the 2 toplink hoses and they were only $9.55 each - 1/2"x 24"x 1/2" NPTM. Shipping sucks but was not over the top. Probably would have cost me 3 - 4 times as much to get them locally. Fortunately I caught the old ones before any leakage.
TSC website shows that size hose for $18. Local store has only one in stock. If you need two, you're out of luck.

Not sure but I don't think they carry ready made hoses. As far as them making custom hoses, I would think that's an individual local store type of thing.

After learning my lesson the hard way I have saved major $$$ by buying replacement hoses from Fleet Farm stores, they have a very nice selection of brand new ready to go hoses on the shelf. Not sure but I think they also do online sales.

Yeah, but air hose fittings are a lot different than hydraulic fittings. By about 15,000psi. I make my own air hoses as well. Mostly for short runs between machines with tees and blow guns. I have a crimper and box full of fittings and crimp sleeves for various sizes of rubber hose. The fittings are brass.

The Goodyear air hose is one of the worst I've experienced. It rots and cracks on the reel. It's probably made overseas too. The best hose I've found for inside shop use is the black rubber hose at Harbor Freight. It has lasted the longest. For outside hose, the blue vinyl coated hose. I've got a couple of 50 footers that are over 10 years old. And they live outside.
Well, my goodyear rubber hose is over 10 years old. Its red and still looks like new. This same company made all my hydraulic hoses for front snowblower, plus has made repair hydraulic hoses for me for past 29 years. As long as i supply them with old hose, they will make me exact copy. The ones they make feel alot heavier than the originals. Ive compared prices with them and auro parts houses and dealers. There alot cheaper. As far as i know, the others bring the hoses to them to make in the first place?

As for the air hoses, i realize there lighter duty. All i was saying is they will make them far less expensive than home depot or lowes prices. I e never used harbor freight hoses, cause i stay far away from their stuff for the most part. Except for their tool boxes, i have not seen much quality stuff at HF.

If you can wait to have it shipped to you, take a look at the Surplus Center. I have gotten a couple from them. This may not be your exact hose but can give you an idea:
