Day three. Two crews worked on day three. In the morning they attached the remaining walls.

The metal building Company had Galvalume as their standard roof color. At the time we were a little overwhelmed comparing total price of each metal building Company - forgot to consider how it would look. We probably should have spent the extra $500 and had the roof match our trim. Oh well. Maybe next time...

#1 - oops a hole.
#2 - oops a hole and oops no base trim.
#3 - oops no weatherproofing closure strips.
We have 100's of photo's - this is just an example.

Please tell me you didn't make the final payment? Can you have them fix these errors? I too agree 100 percent with 77transam the GC is a piece of @%&$!!!!!!!!!!!!! Unreal......

They moved very quickly on day three. They had one crew working one side of the roof and the new crew working the other half. They told us they needed to hurry up because the 2nd crew needed to go back to their regular jobs the following day... Looking back on that moment in time we now realize that was not a good thing to hear. 1.) Two unsupervised crews (one of which had no obligation to us). 2.) One of which has a regular job to return to. 3.) Hurrying up on a roof installation. <water from eyes. Oh well. Live and learn.

The odd thing about the GC - he was pleasant and professional at nearly every moment (minus a voice mail or two) - the work that was done or in some cases not done - while he was on hiatus - that's a different story.

That sounds exactly like the dick and his construction superintendent at the time that built our house. By any chance are any of these guys named Matt Walter or C.B. Collins?

I'm surprised the GC didn't tell you those holes are features...peepholes for midgets.

Yep, I have 100's of photos of the crap that's gone wrong here after the frosting melted off the canine Twinkie that is our house.

It’s not about the money. We just want the building we chose, built correctly, with the features that were included in the price. We asked them to make repairs – the GC sent his unsupervised crew – so you could guess how that turned out. Info is on my building insulation thread.

OK, thanks for the updates so far. I've been following this thread very closely...
Thanx!! Your alias can be MetalBuildingFan :D I definitely DO appreciate the support!

They might be related to our GC - inbreds maybe...

I'm tempted to start another thread and post pictures of the puddles in our building. :drink:

The last sequence of photo's showed an opening in the roof - there is a reason for that... the GC claimed the metal building company shorted them on roof panels. The metal building company claims they triple checked their count. Hence the last photo was at the end of day three...

On day four they didn't work. On day five they finished up by doing the final roof panel and then they installed the remainder of the trim.

And FINALLY the moment we've all been waiting for... DRUM ROLL PLEASE... :cool2:

Sorry for posting the construction pics so slowly... I felt a little :confused2:
The powerlessness took a little out of me... it was kinda like having something stuck in my throat.

Rather than roll the dice we hired a door expert to install the roll doors. They did an excellent job.

At the end of the day - we are VERY VERY excited to own 31 acres with a 2400 sq ft metal building on it.

Thank you to EVERYONE who observed and helped along the way. We've done a few things in the last two months - As we make repairs & then improve the building - and as we improve the land - we'll keep all of our new friends here on TBN inside the loop!!

We intend to tighten up all the loose ends and enjoy the HECK out of every inch of our property. We are on :cloud9:
It's hard to tell but deep down inside - I am :cool2:

ITHINKICAN, I just went through your entire thread! Thanks for all the pictures, and sorry for all oyur troubles....But! I was very impressed with your "Glass half full" attiutde through it all. You mentioned somewhere along the way that you would like to be a GC, but could not, basically because of your ethics. IMHO, maybe you should be a GC, because of your ethics:thumbsup: There is no rule out there that says an honest man can't make a buck. You might not make a quick one, but you can make one, and sleep at night. I have been in construction for 20+ years now, and have been around, and worked for a lot of unethical (sp?) contractors. I don't want what they have. Now I will get down off my soap box and say thanks one more time for sharing your "build" jmmy ps. when I get satrted on my place I'll be letting you all know.

Congratulations on the dry-in ITIC!

Now, be sure and let us know how quickly you fill it up!

Also, what plans/ideas do you have for wiring/lighting? Gonna have any shelving/storage areas or are you just gonna keep it all open?

If you do start another thread, please post a link to it here. Puddles, do I get puddles in my garage thanks to poor workmanship.

I wouldn't be surprised if Matt Walter and C.B. Collins are inbred.
