I've had a chance to visit the local TSC here in St. Paul, MN, and they seem to be sold pretty much on all First Choice equipment. In their catalog they list pretty much every 3-pt compatible piece I'd be interested in.... however, I'm also a JD person (meaning I like Green), and therefore the stuff I have (BB, Mower) are either Frontier or Green. Any comments on the First Choice equipment? Any pros/cons on the brand and its durability/reliability/etc.?

Thanks in advance. i suppose I could always paint them green if I needed to... /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

I'm sorry and you are all correct - it is indeed, King Kutter that they are stocking. I had First Choice on the brain for some reason.

The question still stands - any comments?

(And I will try not to get it wrong this time...)

I have a 48" tiller it's excellent. Looking forward to getting the garden ready if it ever dries up.

My only complaint is the "chip proof paint" is just paint. I have a few chips and then some on my tiller (including the old flakes of paint coming off from the way they used to store/ship tillers...they did send a can of spray paint so I can fix their problem). I'm plan to paint the bad areas, along with my no name snot yellow box blade this spring.

I have a First Choice Tiller and it is a wonderful piece of equipment. If I ever get a bigger tractor and want a bigger tiller, First Choice is my first choice and you can write it down I'd get it from Ken Sweet and Sweet Tractors.

I have several KK implements. They are not the best on the market but then the price is right and parts are very easy to obtain and they aren't built too bad either.

Most KK implements are painted poorly and I have heard complaints about the quality of the welds, although I have never broken any welds myself.

I have used their finish mower for 4 years, their rotary cutter for 6 years, also own their boom pole, subsoiler, and landscape rake.

Guess you might say I'm a KK magnet of sorts. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Thanks for the feedback on the KK stuff... I see them at TSC and Mills Fleet Farm up here all the time. The prices are significantly less than the Frontier stuff that the Deere dealers sell and for some equipment that I just wouldn't be using all the time (like perhaps once-twice per year), spending that kind of cash just doesn't add up.

I suppose I could paint them green if necessary, too... /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

Bob if color means all that much to you then by all means drag out the spray paint gun. I actually sprayed my KK finish mower to match my New Holland, and it looks pretty cool too. /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif
