Pacific North West - Excessive heat warning issued

No rain here yet, but down to the high 80's. Supposed to get some later this week. Fingers crossed.

It's been cooler today - 77F right now. However - the smoke is bad. Have the house all sealed up with the fans blowing the inside air on us.

So..... Brownie & I stepped outside to relieve ourselves before bed. He does not like going out in the dark alone. By golly - it's pretty cool and the smoke is gone.

It's 10:30 pm. Rush back in the house - check the weather station - it's down to 72F.

Open the two windows - turn on the fans. Turn loose the tornados............

61F outside - 73F inside @ 6:15am. Fans running like mad. Don't smell any smoke but there is "crud" in the air. The sun is coming up a fluorescent orange globe.

And this weather just goes on & on. Cool nights - hot afternoons and some are even blessed with choking smoke. The closest I've got to any recent rain - a couple days ago - - 0.04".

No damage to fences....they just jump clear of the field fences, even the youngins

we bought here 28 years ago. this is what it has always looked like here in july/august. first time we have not had pasture grass all summer long. no rain for over 3 months now
