I bought the cheap red one off EBay for around $100 with free shipping. Works OK, but is made in China. After buying it I got the extension for almost the same price, because after look at the lift I knew the design would change. They are also available on Amazon.
It works fine for the few times a year I use it, cheaper than renting, and I can always repair it. The design is pretty much the same as the expensive ones, just cheaply made.
