Using a tractor is OK, you just need one heavy enough to stay on the ground. In a strong wind there is the matter of how to get back on the ground, assuming the rope doesn't break.

Since this is the Safety Forum, this video shows why you should tie up your horse before mowing the field.

This is probably the safest method of cutting down a tree I've seen so far. Who needs a snatch block when you've got one of these babies?
