Nothing we can do about the photo bucket files. Fortunately, there are more than 400,000 attachments have been uploaded directly to TBN so most photos will always be here. That includes all 13,610 uploaded by Xfaxman.:drink:
You can still remove your pictures after 24 hours if you host them with TBN, just go to: http://www.tractorbynet.com/forums/profile.php?do=editattachmentsI had a lot of images on photobucket and used it over uploading to TBN so I had control of my images. I don't like the fact that TBN will not allow editing after 24 hours.
That said I have accounts on other forums where you can edit your posts indefinitely and I have replaced some of the photobucket hosted images on those.
The photobucket change made me angry to the point I was determined to cancel my account and get my images deleted. It was no easy task with the pop ups they inflicted but I finally was able to click on a customer support link that allowed me to delete my account there. I have verified they deleted all my images.
I saw a simple hack somewhere that bypassed the photobucket code and made the images viewable again but I don't remember what it was.
There is at least one member on here that still has a photobucket link in his signature. I don't understand why they don't edit that out. I used to hove one in mine and decided to remove it before the melt down just because every topic I participated in caused my signature image to have to load.
Generally you give them a perpetual license to display/use it as per your sharing settings (so that they can have copies, backups, etc without breaking the law), but there are some sites who claim the rights to use itFWIW...without reading every word of any terms of service and or end user agreement(s)...It is possible that by just creating an account and uploading an image...the end user "could" be surrendering legal rights to said image...
I have never used an image hosting service so I have never studied any of their legalese...
Most digital media photo contests word their agreements that way...!
BTW...If anyone is familiar with using an FTP client...the best option for sharing anything on the Internet is from a remote server...for as little as $4-$5 /month you can get complete web hosting with unlimited data ...which includes unlimited use of an e-mail server...use a domain if you have one or just an IP address...upload all your data using FTP to the server then just link your images and videos to directories on the server...send or post the links to anyone...

Now regarding xfaxman's 13k+ pics.......gotta ask though....how many of those are the exact same pic:laughing:
I know I have uploaded the same pic more than once. And I though I had alot of pics....but according to the info on my side of the screen, I have 1,717 uploads taking up 638.96mb of space. But that pales in comparison to xfaxman's astonishing number
Because it's the American way. Get addicted to using something for free and complain if you get charged.Ransom??? I've got three photo bucket accounts, when they were making the "change" I was notified and had the opportunity to do as I wished with my picts...
I did NOTHING, why? because I had brains enough to BACK UP ALL OF THE PICTS I PUT ON PHOTO BUCKET!!
IF you didn't do the same, that's ON YOU!
Why should anyone be crying because a company wants to be paid for a service they are offering?? Do YOU work for FREE?
You should be THANKING them for all the FREE years you got to use them!!

That owner is a piece of work. But it is his site.I use to be a member of a forestry site, they have a lot of saw millers ect. there, in fact the owner of the site came to another site and asked me to come to his site and also post there...
I would post picts there, just like I do here. It was weird, I'd post a pict., it would show for a day or so, then not show after that. I would go back and relink to the pict. and it would show again, but only for a short time. Some friends emailed me and told me THEY were having the same problem.
I started looking at the actual link that I posted and noticed that a couple letters would change in the link, so with further investigation I figured out some one was changing them after I posted them!
Finally, the OWNER of the site, told me I couldn't post picts from a pict. hosting site, I had to load the picts. directly to his site, AND then I learned that once THAT was done, HE became the owner of the picts!!
UNACCEPTABLE, and that ended me going to that site! They can stick THAT rule where the sun don't shine!
