Philip (or any other HST + Cruise Control owners), have you done this?: I was using my FEL to lift something up & over the sides of & into my utility trailer, & when I was done went to shift from L to M range to back away faster ... but hit the cruise bar instead, still in forward  Caught it real quick, but not quick enough as it put a little crunch bend in my trailer's fender. That fender was no match for the tractor

There is a whole thread on embarrassing moments on tractors, so you are not alone. I routinely use four different tractors of three different makes, one of which is a geared unit, you would not believe the mental gymnastics I go through some times.

Try using the HS/DS two speed high/low pump selector on the left side of the steering column for quick simple speed changes instead of the low/medium/high gearbox selection? Operate full FEL in low, emply FEL in high. No, luckly I have not done that. Thanks for the warning! Philip.

No front weights.
I have a 6' brush bull and a 88" Alamo SHD flail. It handles both great.

Mine does fine on flat ground with my RCR2672, but gets a little light in the front going up steep inclines.

That can happen. Just make sure you don't have the top link so tight that it is lifting the back of the mower.

Philip, TripleR, or any other Grand L owners ... I think I remember reading where one of you, or somebody on this site, is using the two ROPS welded-on forward-facing nuts, for lights maybe it was?

Anybody remember the bolt size for those nuts? Are they metric? Thread size?

(My L3940 is ~6 miles away, long round trip just to look before going to Home Deopt :))

Thank you ...

I have a hydraulic top link which makes it really east to adjust with each implement, so when bush hogging, I have it loose to allow the weight to be on the tail wheel as per manual, but can "tighten" it up to back up and mow over ditches and ledges without slinging dirt. I also tilt the back up and back into heavy brush sometimes. I really like the ability to adjust without dismounting.

I just used thru bolt and nut with oversized washers. That would be a big bolt to fit thru your light clamp if you intend to use the nut in rops. Philip.

Sorry ... I'm not using the nuts to mount lights.

I'm making a plywood roof & want to use those two nuts to secure diagonal roof supports.

Be sure to send us pictures of the roof/canopy. I've been thinking of doing the same.
