Axle what mini grapples are you looking at? The landprode grapple over the phone price was 1450, everything attachments same price And their was on other company that I saw and their price was 1599 looked just like the landpride but was a lot beefier.
Ooklaa, I've discussed the sizing and advantages of a mini grapple on many many threads. And as I've talked about often is that a subcompact can do a great deal of jobs others say it is limited on . . as long as you chose the proper tools. Landpride doesn't make a mini grapple . . they make a 4 foot grapple that weighs 156 pounds and opens to 30 inches. As in my past post to you on this thread I talked about a mini grapple that is 11 inches wide. This unit weighs 77 pounds in that 11 inch width. It opens to 28 inches. You can imagine that 77 pounds in 11 inches . . . The claw tines are built heavier than on landprides 48 inch unit at 156 pounds. And the 80 pound weight difference means more lifting payload capacity. But I also explained that I don't want a 4 foot wide unit. I want a unit to grab big rocks from a pile. I want the ability to reach into a tight place and pull out a log sideways as well as normal methods. A mini grapple also can haul branches like a normal grapple too. Mytractortools.com where I referred you before . . Makes 4 sizes or styles of grapples for sub compacts . . Each with its own set of advantages. Each is high quality and each is primered and then powdercoated for durability. Materials are chosen for strength advantages but with reduced weight. They also produce a couple bucket versions with hydraulic thumbs. The difference is they don't have sides to the bucket so they aren't limited in grabbing materials larger than the bucket width. Lots of options of products.
Like I mentioned in my prior post . . There are lots of products for lots of different needs. Fiziks went one method . . I have different needs so I am going for a different method of product.
You mentioned EA and Landpride for grapples . . while I considered a dozen and a half vendors and a hole bunch of choices in that number of vendors. Answers are out there for everyone with varing checkbook sizes . . but effort to find answers is individual determination oriented.
I'm sure you'll find what can work for your needs . . after all . . despite many trying to influence you into much larger and more expensive tractors . . You picked a good one in the Massey gc1720 despite their pressure to have you oversize and overspend.
