Pistol Safety

Well, if you want to carry a pistol in harsh conditions, carry a Glock. Very robust and very easy to strip for cleaning...

Roy, I have carried Glocks for years.

Just finished bush hogging the front field and I did it unarmed. Never thought I needed to carry on the tractor, but, now that I think of it, there are some pretty mean garter snakes about!

Sometimes I tractor-carry and sometimes not. All depends if I think about it and how paranoid I'm feeling. Lots of crazy meth dealers around here and ya never know what they will do. When I do carry put it in the toolbox next to drivers seat. Too uncomfortable to wear the belt holster while sitting in the seat.

You probably never will "need" a firearm while on a tractor nor will I. The vast majority of us will never need a firearm and even the vast majority of Law Enforcement Officers will never use a firearm other than to point it at someone.

However, having seen enough people who were victimized that the presence of a weapon would have prevented, I choose to carry a weapon most of the time.

If I was clairvoyant, I would know when and when not to carry a weapon or places to avoid, but alas I am not and choose to carry based on what could happen not what will happen.

yep! gotta be prepaired. if I have a ccw, and in a position where i didn't carry, when i could have.. and something bad happend that i would have been in a better position had I had a gun,.. i'd be a lil miffed.. I always try to carry if legal...

i got the ccw for when i travel. i am not worried at the PRESENT time to carry at all times. If things get worse, that may change.

Right now i simple don't worry. Where i live nearly everyone has a ccw and/or carries, so thieves think twice about messing with anyone to begin with.

Personally, I'm more worried about what some low life schemer could sue me for if i ever had to use a gun. the courts seem to side with the crooks.

When i lived and worked in Calif years and years ago. I carried a colt 45 wherever i went.... and my 120# Rottweilier (he was a better deterrent than a gun).

It's always got to be a personal choice based on your own circumstances.

My wife resisted carrying for a long time, but something happened I won't go into and she carries all of the time she is away from home now. I wish she would carry around the farm, but she just won't do it.
